Because it should be stated by the one with distinctions, therefore contact must also exist in it, therefore, the contacter also exists, the contacter who should be stated by the one with distinctions also exists, because it proves that contact exists through the way the contacter exists. Therefore, they say, "Contact must exist," which is the conclusion and the fruit of valid cognition of all three inferences. In order to answer what they said, here it is explained by the commentator himself. Therefore it is said: The one in the process of contacting, the contact, and the contacter, also do not exist. Because as the stated proof, it is impossible to have another. It is said that this is the intention. Here, also like before, because it is impossible to have another, the one in the process of contacting, the one who has already contacted, and the contacter do not exist. It is said that this is the intention. Here, the meaning of the refutation is that by pointing out the faults of the proof stated by the opponent at the beginning of the refutation, it is shown that contact is without inherent existence. This is the conclusion and the fruit of valid cognition. In the fourteenth examination of contact, the meaning of the refutation is regarded as the fruit of valid cognition, because the opponent previously, at the beginning of this refutation, in order to prove that things exist in ultimate truth, one should first know that things are inherently existent in ultimate truth. Because relying on them to show contact, therefore, by pointing out the faults of the proof they stated, it is shown that contact is without inherent existence. What is the merit of showing that contact is without inherent existence? In order to eliminate the saying of others that "This is just barely proven with dry logical treatises," here it should also be proven by the source of reliable scriptures. Therefore, in the Sutra Requested by Subjugating with Great Power, the Bhagavati Mother Prajnaparamita says: Subjugating with great power, form has no contact or separation. Likewise, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness also have no contact or separation. Whatever form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness have no contact or separation, that is Prajnaparamita.

It is said that those statements such as "has arrived" are established. Like this, the establishment of those trustworthy scriptures and so on is the merit and source of showing that conjunction is without inherent existence. Therefore, I do not establish it merely with dry reasoning from my own thoughts, but there are also those scriptures. Because of that, in the boundless Mahāyāna sūtras, it is shown that conjunction is without inherent existence, and these treatises will explain in detail the object to be explained, which is also the wisdom of the teacher and the wise ones who explain it. Composed by the teacher Legdanje, in the commentary on the root verses of the Middle Way, the "Lamp of Wisdom," the chapter on examining conjunction, which is the fourteenth chapter, is extensively explained. Composed by the teacher Avalokiteśvara Tulkushog, it is complete. Volume fifty-three. Now, similarly, by refuting the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness, by the power of the meaning of showing that dependent arising is without cessation and without permanence, the fifteenth chapter will be composed, called "By the Power of..." The word "by the power of" should also be seen here as the meaning of the cause of entering into the proposition, and the meaning of connecting with what follows, the meaning of the words is as before. Among them, by the power of the meaning of the cause of entering into the proposition, it is said, "Now, similarly, by refuting the distinctions of the opposing side of emptiness." When the author of the treatise began to compose the first chapter on examining conditions, he proposed that all things are without arising. Here too, just as the author of the previous treatise proposed, he said that by the power of the meaning of the cause of entering into the proposition. The so-called "similarly" is according to the rules shown in the previous chapter. Emptiness is one's own tenet. Its opposing side is the tenet of the refuter, such as saying that things have inherent existence. The so-called "its distinction" is the previously established tenet of the other party in order to establish that things have inherent existence, below you
