If so, then neither the other nor the non-other itself exists. Why? Because the non-otherness is established nominally by relying on the other or by negating the other. This is merely a nominal establishment, just as shortness is established in relation to length, therefore it does not exist in ultimate truth. And, since the other itself is not established, the non-otherness also does not exist, just as if a Brahmin is not established, then the otherness apart from the Brahmin is also not established, it should be understood in this way. How to refute it? This is the question posed by the opponent, that is, how does the opponent refute non-otherness? In response, in ultimate truth, the seer is not non-other than the seen, because it depends on relying on a special expression, just like the self-nature of the seen. These correspond respectively to the subject, the property to be proven, the proving property, and the example, and are applied in order. For example, the seen depends on relying on a special expression, therefore it is not self-nature and non-otherness, similarly, the seer also depends on relying on a special expression, therefore it is not the seen and non-otherness. Similarly, due to the existence itself, the cause itself, the result itself, sometimes being a reversed cognition or the object of doubt itself, and the differences in conditions being different, etc., the inference should also be elaborated. This shows that the proposition and the reason of the previous example also apply to these. Afterwards, in this way, since non-otherness is refuted, it will not harm the edge of the maker, this is the conclusion of the inference itself. Because in this way, oneness etc. are not established, therefore, it does not meet with it, and also will not meet with the other. This is the conclusion that arises from the discourse showing distinctions, this is the general conclusion and the result of valid cognition ( प्रमाण ,pramāṇa,measure, standard). Now, some logicians believe that encounter is established through the ways of currently encountering, previously encountering, and the existence of the encounterer.

The establishment of existence should be refuted. To that, in order to first explain the former aspects of those arguments, some say this: Desire and attachment are meeting, because they are meeting, like milk and water. These are respectively the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma of establishment, and the example, arranged in order. For example, milk and water are currently meeting, therefore they are meeting. Similarly, desire and attachment are also currently meeting, therefore they are meeting. Thus, through the way of meeting, the existence of meeting can be established. Or, the meeting related to meeting exists, because it is expressed in ultimate terms, like being bound by chains, etc. Therefore, the meeting related to meeting, the meeting expressed in ultimate terms, also exists. These are also respectively the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma of establishment, the example, and the conclusion, arranged in order. For example, being bound by chains, etc., is expressed in ultimate terms as "already bound," therefore it is meeting. Similarly, for what is already met, the meeting related to meeting is also expressed in ultimate terms as "already met," therefore meeting exists. Thus, through the way of already meeting, the existence of meeting can be established. Similarly, in reality, the meeting related to the one who meets exists, because it should be expressed with a special expression, like the eater who relies on the special expression related to food. Therefore, the one who meets also exists, because the one who meets should be expressed with a special expression. These are also respectively the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma of establishment, the example, and the conclusion, arranged in order. For example, the eater who eats food, because it should be expressed with a special expression such as "eating food is the eater," therefore his meeting with food exists. Similarly, the meeting related to meeting, the one who meets related to meeting is also the one who meets, because it should be expressed with a special
