Therefore, if that is the case, then the meaning of the word "otherness," if it clearly indicates that other things are other, that would become meaningless. If it is not otherness, it cannot clearly indicate that this thing is other, therefore that statement of the Vaiśeṣikas is not reasonable. This is how it is shown: That other thing that is to be clearly indicated by otherness, is it clearly indicated as otherness by otherness? Or is it clearly indicated by otherness as something that is not clearly indicated as otherness? If it is the former, that would become meaningless; if it is the latter, that would become an inconsistent refutation. Similarly, the meaning of the word that clearly indicates other things, which is called "otherness," is it that something clearly indicated as otherness clearly indicates other things? Or is it that something not clearly indicated as otherness clearly indicates other things? Regarding that, if it is the former, because the one that clearly indicates itself and those that possess it, there is nothing that is not clearly indicated, so there is no need to clearly indicate; if it is the latter, because it itself is not clearly indicated, it cannot clearly indicate others, therefore that statement of the Vaiśeṣikas is not reasonable. This is just a brief indication, that is to say, because the otherness examined by the Vaiśeṣikas is unreasonable, therefore, as previously stated, it has already been established without encountering it, this is just a brief indication. Through this aspect, it also shows the refutation of the remaining meanings of words that the Vaiśeṣikas accept. What are the remaining refutations through this aspect? Therefore, it is said, "Through this, one should also refute the universal, the particular, existence, and valid cognition, etc." In the Vaiśeṣika texts, whatever things possess the universal and the particular are considered to possess the universal and the particular. For example, the word "cow" is the universal, and the characteristic that distinguishes a cow from other things is the particular. Regarding that, the thing itself of a cow is neither the universal nor the particular, but because it possesses the meaning of the words "universal" and "particular," it is also said that the thing itself of a cow possesses the universal and the particular. If that is said, then refuting it, if it is considered the universal and the particular because it possesses the universal and the particular, then something without the universal and the particular should also become the universal and the particular from itself.

Transforms, because it is its own nature, for example, fire does not depend on coldness, etc., and also transforms into heat by its own nature. General and special without A dharma that does not depend on other things, if it is considered universal and special, it is just speculation. Dependence on other things is the cause of the mind of universality and specificity, and universality and specificity are the fruit of that mind. If it is thought that universality and specificity or non-universality and specificity have universality and specificity, then it will also become meaningless and inconsistent with negation. If it is thought that the unspeakable thing later has universality and specificity, the thing is not with universality and specificity, because it is a thing, such as the moment of the unspeakable thing itself. Damage to one's own recollection, etc., as said before, should be refuted as much as possible. Similarly, the so-called "beingness", although substances and qualities and other things are not called "being", but because they have the meaning of the word "beingness", substances, qualities and actions and other things will produce the idea of "beingness", so they have "beingness". Substances, qualities, actions and other things are also considered to be "beingness". The so-called "measure", although the nature of things themselves does not have lengths and other measures, but because they have the meaning of the word "measure", things will produce thoughts of lengths and other things, so they have measure, so things will produce thoughts of lengths and other things, it is said so. If it is refuted, because it has beingness and measure, it is considered to be beingness and measure, then without beingness and measure it will also become beingness and measure from itself, because it is its own nature, for example, fire does not depend on coldness, etc., and also transforms into heat by its own nature. Without beingness and measure, if it is thought that the dharma that does not depend on other things has beingness and measure, it is just speculation. Dependence on other things is the cause of the mind of measure, and beingness
