They say that there is no meeting between what is to be seen, seeing, and the seer. Why is that? Because what is to be seen exists in the external realm of form, seeing exists in the internal sense faculty, and the seer exists in the mindstream. Meeting means that things that are not different in terms of object and continuum come together and mingle. But what is to be seen, etc., are different in terms of object and continuum, so there is no meeting. Some say that what is to be seen, etc., are not different in terms of object, and that desire, etc., do not exist in the object, so they follow the difference between object and continuum. Therefore, the meaning of this reason is not established, and there is no concomitance, so it seems that it is not good. The commentator says that the reason for the previous explanation of the commentator, that it follows the difference between object and continuum, is that the meaning of that is not established, and because there is no example, it is not valid, this is a refutation. Like this, when there is a seer, seeing, and what is to be seen, the person is also called the seer, and the eye and form are also called seeing and what is to be seen, so at that time, it is not because the object is different, and desire, etc., are not form, so they do not exist in the object. The reason of the previous ones, that it follows the difference between object and continuum, that meaning is not established. Furthermore, their reason is that there is no meeting with desire, etc., because it follows the difference between object and continuum, for example, like so-and-so, because there is no example, so it seems that it is not good, the commentator says. Now, in order to show that the remaining sources and the remaining afflictions are also the same in that there is no meeting, it is said in the following way: Only what is to be seen, etc., not only is there no other nature, but it is also unreasonable for anything to be different when it is together with anything else. What is to be heard, hearing, and the hearer, etc., hatred, the one with hatred, and hatred
