Because it is not completely abandoned, the nature of yogurt and the like should not be transformed into something else. Even if one transforms from a previous characteristic into a different characteristic, remaining in the nature of old age, there is no transformation into something else, because one has attained a state of different characteristics, like aging. The phrase "like aging" demonstrates the valid means of establishing the second of the multiple aspects. Those should also be connected in order with the subject, the thing to be proven, the proving property, and the example. For example, aging is the attainment of a state of different characteristics from youth, therefore there is no transformation into the characteristic of old age. Similarly, yogurt and the like, which exist in the nature of different characteristics from the previous characteristics of milk and the like, also do not transform into something else because they have attained a state of different characteristics. The opponent says that it harms one's own inference, which is the conclusion and the result of the valid means. Here, some say that the essence of milk and the like, which has not been completely abandoned, also transforms into things like yogurt, therefore the reason is uncertain. Here, the Samkhyas say that the Madhyamika's reason, "because the previous nature has not been completely abandoned," is uncertain. Milk and the like, which have not completely abandoned the essence of their nature, such as vigor and strength, also transform into things like yogurt. Therefore, why is it that because the previous nature has not been completely abandoned, like a young person not becoming old, milk and the like remain in their own nature and do not transform into other things like yogurt? Or, because the previous nature has not been completely abandoned, like milk turning into yogurt, and gold rings and armlets transforming into other things, milk and the like, which remain in their own nature of vigor and strength, also transform into other things like yogurt, which is uncertain, therefore the Madhyamika's reason is not valid. To answer what they say, the commentator explains here: Which thing is yogurt? If it is said to be milk yogurt, then...

However, milk does not completely abandon its own nature of milk, and it is not possible to judge it as the actual substance of yogurt by sound alone, because it is also the same for such conceptualizations. If that itself becomes something else, then the milk itself will become yogurt. The taste, power, maturity, and abilities of milk are not completely abandoned, so it will not become the actual substance of yogurt, because it would become contradictory to worldly conventions. Therefore, it is said that if the substance of milk is yogurt, and milk does not completely abandon its own nature of milk and becomes yogurt, then it would become contradictory to worldly conventions, which is not permissible. If it is as such, that milk does not become the substance of yogurt, then, if someone says so. If the other party says that it itself will not become something else. As an answer to that: Apart from milk, what substance will become yogurt? Is the unchanging itself yogurt? Or will something other than that become like that? The meaning of saying this is that if milk itself does not become yogurt, then water and so on apart from milk, or yogurt itself does not become yogurt, then for the other itself, there is no possibility of becoming something else. Therefore, like that, milk and other things apart from that, because it is not suitable to become other substances, it is not an uncertain reason, this is the conclusion and the result of valid cognition. Others say that milk does not say that the substance of milk is yogurt because the characteristic dharma of yogurt becomes something else. However, by the power of aggregation, milk will become the substance of yogurt. Therefore, previously the other party said that milk is other and yogurt is also other, so the substance of milk is not yogurt, but by the power of aggregation, milk will become the substance of yogurt, this is to explain this point of view. The answer to such a statement is that the explanation itself is done here, here also, does milk abandon the substance of milk and become the substance of yogurt? Or does it become without abandoning it? Two assumptions are made like this. What will that become? This is a question. As an answer to that, if you admit according to the previous analysis, then milk will not become the substance of yogurt. If you admit according to the subsequent analysis, then it will become an inconsistent fault, if you say it is milk, then how can it be yogurt? If you say it is yogurt, then how can it be milk? If you say milk is yogurt, then it will become a worldly convention.
