There is no change, because the inner and outer things all dependently arise in a conventional way, like illusions, dreams, and cities of gandharvas, so because of knowing, the knowable does not become other, therefore, the opponent's reason "because it appears as other changes" is not established. Therefore, For the formations that appear as self and mine, because there is no change, although the knowable does not become other because of knowing, but because of sudden causes, due to the confusion of knowledge, the knowable appears as other, so in order to show that there is a term of designation that "formations are confused." However, just as for those with cataracts, confused wisdom arises because of weakened senses, because the wisdom of untrue self and mine arises, so the designation of "confusion" exists, and so on. In order to show the inference after that, it is said, "Conditioned phenomena are false, because they are the objects of false knowledge, just as the meaning of the object of manifest knowledge is called manifest." Those are also combined in order as the subject, the thing to be proven, the proving thing, and the example. For example, the knowledge of sensory manifestation, mental manifestation, self-awareness manifestation, and yogic manifestation are manifest, but although the objects of those are not manifest, because they are the objects of knowledge, they are also called manifest in the sense of objects, similarly, although conditioned phenomena do not have other changes, so they are not false, but because they are the objects of false knowledge, they are called false. Therefore, due to proper attention and improper attention, the correct and incorrect knowledge of the observer arises, so the knowable is only seen correctly and incorrectly, knowledge does not produce the knowable, so there is no other change in the nature of the knowable, therefore, there is nothing to be removed from this, and there is nothing to be added, in truth, the true Buddha, the true seer is liberated. It has been established that this is said. Those who think that the meaning of false is that things must be the nature of non-abiding

Those words that say "it is emptiness," because of those words, this is said, and so on. Previously, the opponents said, "it is false," that is indeed there, but it is not without meaning, nor does it completely reveal the absence of self of phenomena. Like this, the Blessed One said, "it is false," and thus showed: things are all without inherent existence, because they appear as transformations. Saying "it is false" does not show the absence of self of phenomena, but because things appear as transformations, it shows the absence of self of persons. In order to refute this kind of statement, the following verse is connected to "this is said." In that itself, there is no other change, nor is it in the other. Whatever thing becomes the object of apprehension by whatever nature, in that very thing itself, there is no transformation into the characteristic of old age and death, nor is it in the other itself. Those are the two commitments that are established. The meaning is, whatever thing becomes the object of apprehension by the nature of youth, in that very thing itself, there is no transformation into the characteristic of old age and death, nor is there a transformation into the characteristic of old age and death in the very one who has become old apart from youth. Thus, it shows the two commitments that are established. Because the young do not age, because aging also does not age. These are, in order, two examples of dissimilar phenomena. The meaning is, in that itself, there is no other change, nor is it in the other. Thus, the two commitments that are established show, in order, two examples of similar phenomena. The words of connection here are, for the time being, to abide by one's own self is an unreasonable transformation, because one has not completely abandoned the previous nature, just as a young person does not become an old person. The meaning is, it shows the measure that establishes the earliest commitment, and those are also connected in order as the subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma that establishes, and the example. For example, just as a young person does not become an old person because he has not abandoned his previous nature, similarly, milk and so on, which abide by their own self, are also the previous nature.
