The phrase "even if examined as one" indicates that in order to refute the opponent's argument that "because I possess the number of uniqueness, therefore I am one," it is refuted from other aspects. If it is examined as, the unique possesses the number of uniqueness, therefore it is one; or if it is examined as, not the unique possesses the number of uniqueness, therefore it is one, both of these situations are unreasonable. To explain why the first examination is unreasonable, it is said, "because the relationship becomes meaningless." Like this, because it is already one, already the nature of uniqueness, if it is still thought to possess uniqueness, then the relationship becomes meaningless. Because for what has already been established as the nature of uniqueness, combining it with uniqueness is meaningless. If even if it is established as unique, it must possess uniqueness, then it will fall into the fault of infinity. To explain why the second examination is unreasonable, it is said, "because it is impossible." If it is not the nature of uniqueness, how can it possess uniqueness? Because it is impossible to combine two incompatible things simultaneously in one thing. If previously it did not possess the characteristic of uniqueness, and later it possesses uniqueness and becomes unique, then it will be established as without self-nature through inference because it has abandoned the previous self-nature. "Not good" is the conclusion, the opponent's argument is not good because his own assertion collapses. Saying "it is enough to mention it in passing" means that it is enough to distinguish the opponent's erroneous statements. The opponent previously thought that examining it as related would also violate the vow, because meeting and gathering also have relationships, and the things that arise such as memory and knowledge are not real, so they contradict the author's boundary. What is said is to clarify the Buddhist argument, so there is no need to answer. Like this, we believe that all dharmas are merely imputed and designated, so they do not contradict the author's boundary. Therefore, in this way, it is believed that suffering is not created by me.

O, this is both the general conclusion and the result of valid cognition (Pramana), thus, for the time being, the first proposition has been accomplished. Now, the second proposition is to be established, therefore, it is also not made by others. How is it? If this (the aggregates of this life) is different from that (the aggregates of the previous life), if that (the aggregates of the previous life) is different from this (the aggregates of this life), then this (the aggregates of this life) made by those others, will become suffering made by others. As it is said and so on, if those previous aggregates are different from these present aggregates, and if those previous aggregates are also different from these present aggregates, if one examines in that way, then these made by those others, suffering will also become made by others, if that is the case, then these are not different from those, and these are also not different from those, therefore those others did not make these, therefore suffering is not made by others, thus it shows. In order to show that very point, if those aggregates of the previous former life are different from these aggregates of the later life that connect the boundary of the present, and if it is different from these, if from these also those previous aggregates are different, if one examines in that way, then these made by those others, suffering will also become made by others, if that is the case, then it is not desirable, thus it is said. Why is it not desirable? Therefore, by inferring as other, then it is not its maker, therefore, it refutes that it is the maker, because for the proposition that suffering is made by others, there is the fault of refuting the very nature of the Dharma, thinking in this way, it is said. Because those opponents think that suffering is made by others, therefore, the previous aggregates of Devadatta, those other ones, did not make these present aggregates, because it is other, just as the previous aggregates of the offering, those other ones, did not make these present aggregates of Devadatta, by inferring that the previous aggregates are other, then those are not the makers of these present aggregates, therefore, their proposition has the fault of refuting the very nature of the belief that the Dharma of suffering is made by others, because if it is other, then there is no connection with the nature of the maker and the action.
