If someone says, "Because it is the effect," this is a statement by the opponent faulting the Madhyamikas, saying that "because it is the effect" is uncertain. Because in the world, we see that seeds such as apple seeds, grains, and various different seeds exist before the fruit, such as a rice sprout. So, why must it be said that "because it is the effect," like the very nature of a sprout, the seed grain should not exist before the sprout? Or, because it is the effect, like the fruits of different kinds that have appeared in the past, the fruit must exist before? This is uncertain, so the Madhyamika's reason is not valid. In response to this statement, the commentator here says: Those (seeds) are also actually negated in the same way, so there is no inconsistent aspect, therefore it is not uncertain. That is, those causes of different kinds are also actually negated as not existing before the effect, so there is no inconsistent aspect, therefore it is not uncertain. If someone thinks that the effect is earlier than the cause, then actually it should not be thought that the effect is earlier than the cause, because this would lead to the fault of having no cause. This statement shows that the effect is not before the cause. If the effect were earlier than the cause, then the effect would become without a cause, and even if the effect exists, what is the use of the cause? Relying on the cause would also become meaningless. To those who say that the effect already clearly exists in the cause, the words "also" and so on refute the view of the Samkhyas, who believe that the effect already exists in the cause in the form of potential, and is only later manifested through various conditions. Therefore, the effect should not be manifested through various conditions, because if those conditions disappear, the effect will also disappear, like when the clay and so on disappear, the vase also disappears. These should also be connected in order with the subject, the proposition to be proven, the reason for proving, and the example. For example, the fruit, the vase, if the clay and other conditions disappear or do not exist, it will also disappear or not arise, therefore it is not manifested through conditions, similarly, the effec
