One should answer without hesitation that the other party's words are excessive affirmation, not refutation. After teaching in this way, at the end of this treatise, it says: "Samsara is merely the prior limit, it is neither existent nor non-existent. For all things themselves, the prior limit is also non-existent." Because after examining in this way as it is, for all things, the order of before and after and simultaneity is unreasonable, therefore, not only is samsara merely without a prior limit, but also for all things that are accepted, there is no prior limit, so pots and the like are transmitted from one beginningless cause to another, and it cannot be established as having a beginning. Just as the noble teacher Aryadeva said: "If a pot is produced from a cause, the cause is also produced from another. For that which is not produced from itself, how does it produce another?" It is like what was said. Therefore, the example cited by the other party to establish that samsara has a beginning, like a pot, does not correspond to the dharma to be established, so there is the fault of an incomplete example. The meaning of the reason "because there is an end" is also not established. Because samsara is not taught with distinctions such as having an end. Because in this way it shows that the meaning of the reason "because there is an end" proposed by the other party to establish that samsara has a beginning is not established. Why is it not established? Because among the fourteen things not taught by the Bhagavan, it is said: "The world is permanent and the world is impermanent, and permanent is also permanent, impermanent is also impermanent, and neither permanent nor impermanent, the world has an end and the world does not have an end, and there is an end and there is also no end, and neither has an end nor has no end, I exist after death, and I do not exist after death, and I exist and also do not exist after death, and neither exist nor do not exist after death, life is the body, and life is other and the body is other, these should not be taught." Having said this, because samsara is also not taught, the other party

Just as saying, "The reason of Olpo is that sound has the object of the eye," it is not established. Others say that if one believes that samsara has no beginning, then like "If that is so," etc., it shows that if the opponent believes that samsara has no beginning, then there will be no end either. If that is so, then even for those yogis who have arisen with correct knowledge, there will be no end to the exhaustion of samsara. Therefore, it should also be known that it has no exhaustion, because it has no beginning, like a person or the sky. Having said such words, those also coordinate the subject, the dharma to be proven, the dharma that can prove, and the example in order. For example, a person and the sky have no beginning, so those also have no end. Similarly, samsara also has no beginning, so it should also be known that it has no end. As an answer to their saying that, here the commentator says that whether it is a person or something else, because it is unborn, it is not even admitted in name, so there is the fault of the example's subject not being established. The person and the sky that the opponent examines, those who believe them to be substantial, we Madhyamikas do not even admit them to be substantially existent in conventional truth, because they are unborn, so we do not even admit them in name, let alone in ultimate truth. Therefore, your example, like a person or the sky, has the fault of the subject not being established. On the conventional side, for seeds and so on that have no beginning, because an antidote has arisen, there is seeing the end, so it is contradictory in meaning. This is to show that the opponent's promise that samsara has no beginning and should also be known to have no end is also contradictory in meaning on the conventional side. For seeds and so on that have no beginning, because an antidote such as fire has arisen, there is seeing the end of burning and so on. Therefore, how can samsara, because it has no beginning, be inexhaustible like a person or the sky? Or, like seeds and so on that have no beginning, because an antidote has arisen, the end is seen, so it is uncertain whether it will be exhausted, so it is contradictory in meaning.
