Because it has been revealed that these things are without inherent existence, these words were spoken based on that reason. What is the fruit of this treatise? By what means is that fruit obtained? Revealing that samsara is without inherent existence is the fruit of this treatise. That fruit is obtained by refuting the distinctions of the aspects that are contrary to the non-inherent existence of things, therefore the commentator says that in the connecting part of this treatise, only the method and the first fruit arising from the method are revealed. In order to reveal what is said to be "the distinction of the aspects that are contrary to the non-inherent existence of things," it is said, "Here it is said," and so on. Their own school believes that, ultimately, the skandhas and so on are truly existent, because they are mutually dependent, like fire and firewood. In order to refute this argument and analogy, in the treatise analyzing fire and firewood, it says: The nature of fire and wood, And all the order of taking, Together with pots, cloths, etc., Are completely explained without exception. After saying these things, although all things such as the skandhas have been refuted, their own school, which clings to these things, cannot tolerate it, so these words are connected to "They say again," and so on. Therefore, ultimately, the skandhas and so on are truly existent, because the Blessed One has pointed out the names and distinctions, and has pointed out the key to their cessation. These words, etc., are, in order, the subject, the proposition to be proven, the means of proof, and the example. If something does not exist here, then it is unreasonable to point out the name and distinction, and to point out the key to its cessation, just as it is to cure the eye disease of a two-headed person, which is an example that does not conform to the Dharma. For those things, the names and distinctions have been pointed out, and the key to their cessation has been pointed out, for example: Monks, samsara has no beginning or end, and for the ignorant child who does not understand the true Dharma, samsara is long. And, similarly, monks, therefore you should strive to end samsara, and you should be taught in this way.

The phrase "those things exist" refers to the approximation of grasping. The term "samsara" indicates the names of the aggregates and so forth. Samsara is the nature of the five aggregates, the nature of the five destinies, and is accompanied by karma and afflictions. There is no beginning and no end. "For children who do not understand the sacred Dharma, samsara is long." This statement refers to the distinction, because samsara possesses the distinction of having no beginning and no end, and for children who do not understand the Dharma not abandoned by the noble ones, that is, the noble path, it possesses the distinction of having a long samsara. Having thus shown the name and distinction, the Buddha said, "Monks, therefore you should strive to end samsara, you should train in this way." This refers to showing the key point for the sake of cessation. In order to end samsara, one should strive on the path of accumulation, and one should train on the path of preparation and the path of purification, because he gave advice and subsequent instructions. Therefore, by the power of the reasons stated, the aggregates and so forth are only existent, which is the conclusion and the result of valid cognition. Here, the Blessed One did not show the names, distinctions, and the key points for ending those that do not have two heads, eyes, and so forth, those are not existent in the ultimate truth. However, he showed the names, distinctions, and the key points for ending the aggregates and so forth, those are only existent in the ultimate truth. They say so. In order to answer what they said, the commentator says here: The protector of the world, seeing the continuity of birth produced by karma and afflictions, like illusions and mirages, and the antidote to birth not yet arisen, therefore the continuity of birth is not interrupted, so he said, "For children, samsara is long." Since birth is the beginning of many sufferings, it is thought that it should be combined with reverence for the sake of ending samsara, it is only said so, and so on. It is only in the conventional names that the names, distinctions, and the key points for ending them are shown, not in the ultimate truth.
