Therefore, since "is" is clearly pointed out, it is neither non-existent before seeing and so on, nor is there no clear indication. Therefore, like this, the thing that exists before seeing or hearing and so on, relies on a different close-taking from it, therefore it becomes the close-taker itself, so there is no situation where the meaning of the reason is not established, this is the conclusion. In short, this is the former view. In order to answer what was said, the commentator himself said here: If all seeing and so on do not exist before, then how can each seeing and so on exist before? Because if it is thought that it exists before seeing or hearing and so on, then the close-taking that does not depend on it will not be established as the close-taking itself, and the close-taker that does not depend on it will not be established as the close-taker itself, this is his meaning. It is said, when it has seeing, it is not the close-taker of the remaining parts such as hearing, and the remaining parts such as hearing are not its close-taking, therefore, there is no close-taker before the close-taking. For the remaining parts, it should also be applied accordingly as appropriate. Therefore, just like before, from inference, the existence of a close-taker before each close-taking will not be established, this is the conclusion. Chapter Forty-five. Furthermore, for those who say that there is a close-taker, is it said that the only seer is also the hearer and the feeler? Or admit that it is other? Through "if" and so on, it shows that it is unreasonable in both investigations. In order to show that the first investigation is unreasonable, it is said: If before each, the seer is the hearer, the feeler is also the same. If there is only one close-taker before each seeing and so on, then when it has seeing, it is called the seer. When it has hearing, it is also called the hearer. When it has feeling, it is also called the feeler, when grasping each object

Whatever sense organ is connected from, it is close to accepting it, therefore, whatever is the sole viewer, it is said that he is also the listener and the feeler. In order to show the same principle, just as the non-Buddhists say, that viewer's body and the abode of the senses, like clay, are of the nature of increasing and decreasing. If you think like them, then it is said. That is, the non-Buddhists say that the self (藏文:བདག་,梵文天城体:ātman,梵文罗马拟音:ātman,汉语字面意思:I) is the only pervasive examiner, and its body and the abode of the senses, unknowingly, like grass and clay, are of the nature of increasing and decreasing. When the goer transfers to another going place, some of the body and senses are born and some are destroyed. The person is the object of the self, so there is no initial birth and no final destruction. Just as they say, you, the Sthavira Nikāya sect, also think so, this is the argument put forward by the other party. In order to show that it is unreasonable, it is said, "That is not known in that way, so it is not reasonable now," meaning that it would become a non-Buddhist. Or, if before each, the viewer is the listener, and the feeler is also him. Etc., thinking that the only viewer is also the listener and the feeler. When he has viewing, listening etc. exists before that. When he has listening, viewing etc. exists before. The rest are the same, so the name "exists before" can be established, but it cannot be said that he is both the viewer and the listener and the feeler. Why not? Therefore, even if the only thing exists, because it does not stay for more than a moment, it is impossible to be the viewer, the listener, and the feeler in name. The only thing is unreasonable, how can it exist before each? Said such words. If that person is the only permanent one, then it can be said that he is both the viewer, the listener, and the feeler. We Buddhists say that all dharmas are momentary, how can that person be permanent?
