If there is no agent and no action, then you will fall into the fault of having no cause, and all those that are pointed out will be related to you. In order to answer the previous view raised by the other party, because it is observed in this way: the agent depends on the action, and the action also depends on the agent itself to arise. Therefore, the agent and the action itself, having the cause of the agent and the action, is only mutually dependent in name, and apart from that, no other cause of establishment is seen. Thus it is said: the agent depends on the action, abides in the action, and depends on the action to become the agent, thus it is established and declared. His action also depends on the agent himself to arise, and is established and declared as his action. Therefore, these two are established as mutually dependent, and there is no establishment or non-establishment in their own nature. Therefore, in this way, since these two are not admitted to be existent or non-existent, they are established as the Middle Way. Apart from this establishment, no other nature that can be established is seen. Therefore, in the initial debate, it is difficult to answer because the meaning of the argument is not established, and there is a fault in the example. If other arguments are conceived, they will also become contradictory in meaning, which is the conclusion and the result of valid cognition. Previously, other debaters believed that in the ultimate truth, the aggregates, elements, and sources are truly existent, because the Blessed One relied on them to teach the agent and the action. Here, for things that do not exist, the Blessed One did not rely on them to teach the agent and the action, just like the horns of a donkey and a mule. If this argument is established in the ultimate truth, then the meaning is not established. If it is established in the conventional truth, then the meaning is contradictory, and there is no example, so the other debaters' view is not established. Some people think that in the ultimate truth, the aggregates, elements, and sources are truly existent, because the Blessed One taught the taker and the taken, in order to refute these views. One should understand the taker in that way, and show the similarities through these and so on, this is what the personalists say

It is said that "Pudgala is the near-taken, and sentient beings are the near-taker." In order to refute this statement, the first half of this verse is spoken. Just as the effort shown above, just as the elimination of the agent and action. "Near-taken" means near taking. In order to explain that it should be regarded as the cause of reality, it is necessary to fully understand the near-taker and the near-taken, because wherever there is reality, there are many agents. The word "near-taken" generally refers to reality, that is, the near-taker sentient being and the near-taken aggregates. Wherever there is reality, there are agents, actions, deeds, right giving, taking, etc., which belong to the category of agents. Just as it is said above that the agent depends on the action, and the action also depends on the agent to arise, similarly, the near-taker also depends on the near-taken, and the near-taken also depends on the near-taker to arise. Therefore, the near-taker and the near-taken themselves are not the ultimate truth. This is the explanation of "Thus, the near-taken should be known," which is the near establishment of the proposition, which is the thesis. "In order to explain its proof, how is it said? In order to eliminate action and agent." Elimination means prohibition. "For the sake of" is the meaning of the cause, because the agent and action are eliminated in that way, so it should be known that the near-taker and the near-taken are also eliminated. Just as when examining the agent and action, the one who becomes the agent does not do what becomes the action; the one who is not the agent does not do what has not become the action. Everything that has been said above should also be understood appropriately here. In order to explain their concomitance, a little explanation will be given about it: Devadatta, who has become the taker in the ultimate sense, is the aggregates that have become the near-taken.
