If it is said that there is no harm from the fault of not being created, because those of Dharma and non-Dharma are acknowledged as the nature of the differences in the actions of body, speech, and mind. This is to say that the Sutra School masters previously said to the Madhyamikas regarding the statements: If there is no it, then action, agent, and action are not reasonable. Because of this, for things that are not dependent, there are no those actions for action and agent. Just as if there is no tree to be cut, there is no cutting, cutter, and cutting. After saying this, it is said that for things that are not dependent, there is the harm of the fault of not having an agent. That our Sutra School's doctrine will not be harmed. Why? Because in our Sutra School's doctrine, for conditioned things, the autonomy examined by the declarers is the agent, like this, there is no agent and feeler. Therefore, for things that are not dependent, it will become the fault of not having an agent, saying this will not harm. Because in our doctrine, the collection of cause and condition is conventionally acknowledged as the agent. Therefore, the Dharma and non-Dharma of action, having the differences of body, speech, and mind, those are all acknowledged as karma. Therefore, the action, agent, and action that I examine in the statement are not there. You Madhyamikas say that for things that are not dependent, it will become the fault of not having an agent, that does not harm us, so they say. After saying that, to answer that, here the commentator himself says: Merely the collection of causal assistance is nominally acknowledged as the agent, therefore relying on it, one's own Dharma and non-Dharma are all said to be the words of karma. Because if there is no agent, the karma that depends on it will not be accomplished, therefore the fault of not having Dharma and non-Dharma, etc., is not the case, because there is no reason for dependence. After saying this, it is said: Even if you Sutra School masters, the autonomy examined by the declarers is the agent, like that is not there, but for those things that arise from cause and condition, whatever cause and condition assists is merely a collection, nominally acknowledged as the agent, therefore relying on that agent, Dharma and non-Dharma are all said to be the words of karma, therefore for you too, you yourselves examine.

If the agent does not exist, then the action that depends on it will not be accomplished, therefore, the fault of not having Dharma and non-Dharma, etc., will not cause harm, but will only cause harm. In order to show the cause of the harm, it is said, "Because there is no reason for dependence." If even the imputator who is merely the aggregation of causal aids does not exist, then what will the action depend on to be accomplished? It will not be accomplished. If the action is not accomplished, then the fault of not having Dharma and non-Dharma, etc., will not cause harm, but will only cause harm, therefore, you must also acknowledge the meaning of the reason "having dependence." In order to show that for those who say there is no dependence, because there is no Dharma and non-Dharma, how will the great harm of having no result arise, therefore, in the manner of what was said, it is said: If Dharma and non-Dharma do not exist, then the result arising from that does not exist. If Dharma and non-Dharma do not exist, then the result arising from them, the realms of gods and humans, and sentient beings in hell, animals, and hungry ghosts, bodies and senses, and enjoyments, the accomplishment of desirable and undesirable natures, etc., will not exist. In order to show how the path of liberation and higher realms becomes unreasonable, and all actions become meaningless there, therefore, it is said: If there is no result, then the path of liberation and higher realms is unreasonable. All actions will also become meaningless. If there is no result, then the path to liberation, the eightfold noble path of yogis who put right view first for the sake of transcending suffering, is also unreasonable, and the path to higher realms, properly taking vows, and diligently engaging in meditation and absorption are also unreasonable, and all worldly and transworldly actions will become meaningless. Therefore, for thinking about the activity of becoming a non-agent from an agent, and becoming an agent from a non-action, and becoming an action from a non-agent, there will be great harm.

It can prevent the occurrence of all kinds of decline and is difficult to produce. Knowing that the agent and the action are all related, one should intend to do so. This is to show the fault of the former aspect and to guide people to establish the latter aspect. Thus, because there is the impeccable reasoning as stated above, it shows the unreasonableness of the following view: that from a non-agent it transforms into an agent, and from a non-action it transforms into the action of a non-agent. This is the conclusion and the result of the measure. Thus, the second established meaning has also been established, namely: not transforming from a non-agent into an agent, and the examination of the action of a non-agent transforming into a non-agent. Now, the third examination will be explained, namely: not transforming from an agent and a non-agent into an agent and a non-agent, and the examination of the action of an agent and a non-agent transforming into the action of an agent and a non-agent. In order to explain its former aspect, those who proclaim the principle of categories say: Because from the category, the agent is both an agent and a non-agent, there is no fault. Here, those who are suitable to proclaim the principle of categories say: As for our side, the agent, if viewed from the category of living things, is both an agent, and if viewed from the category of bodily things, it is also a non-agent. The action is also the same, if viewed from the category of causes such as soil and spun thread, it is both an action, and if viewed from the category of effects such as bottles and cloths, it is not an action. Therefore, that agent creates that action, and that action is also the action of that agent, so the faults of your previous two arguments do not exist on our side. They say so. In response to what they said, the commentator himself said here: The agent has become and has not become, has become and has not become, therefore does not act. The agent has become and has not become, that is, having function and not having function.
