The subject, the dharma to be established, the dharma that establishes, the example of the opposing side that is not in accordance with the dharma, the combined argument and conclusion are combined in order. Because of that inference, the Madhyamikas have no contradictory or erroneous harm to the previously stated inferences, and our established aggregates, etc., can also be established. In response to that statement, the commentator himself explains here. If this conditioned phenomenon is fully established, then by refuting it, the so-called unconditioned phenomenon can be said to exist slightly. If that conditioned phenomenon is analyzed, it is not existent, therefore, the conditioned phenomenon is not fully established, then how can the unconditioned phenomenon be established? In name only, it is like a rabbit's horn, because it has not arisen, it has not become a substance. Thinking this way, therefore, those reasons, etc., are impossible to exist. It is said that if the conditioned phenomenon exists, then relying on it, the unconditioned phenomenon also becomes established in the way that short is established by relying on long. Therefore, if it is possible to establish the conditioned phenomenon by the way that the unconditioned phenomenon exists, because the conditioned phenomenon is not established, the so-called unconditioned phenomenon is like a rabbit's horn in name only, because it has not arisen, it has not become a substance, therefore, the opponent's reasons, etc., are impossible to exist. Here it is said that if birth, etc., are not self-nature in the ultimate sense, then if that is the case, after the very nature of those conditioned phenomena is refuted, it will be established accordingly, therefore, it will become the fault of the subject, reason, example, etc., not being established. This is what one's own school says to the Madhyamikas, because the self-nature and the basis of the self-nature are not established, there will be the fault of the subject, reason, example, etc., not being established. In response to that statement, the commentator himself explains here. It does not exist in the ultimate sense, but in name only, like a dream, like an illusion, like a Gandharva city, because it is accepted as existent, there is no fault. It is said, etc. In order to show the example of being like a dream, how to remember the experienced dream discriminations, dharma and non-dharma, and what is made by the gods.

Having the cause of being blessed, the desired object and the undesired object, encountering them, having the fruit of near attainment, if examined, although without self-nature, but existing in name, etc., the very cause of the mind itself transforms into the object itself, thus it is said. Therefore, it shows the cause, effect, and self-nature of dreams. Among them, there are four causes of dreams: the memory of experiencing conceptualization, Dharma, non-Dharma, and divine blessing. Among them, the memory of experiencing conceptualization is that in the state before falling asleep, the sign of the object does not exist in the external environment, but the experience of conceptualization by the mind, when falling asleep, remembering, then that cause will cause dreaming. Dharma is that in the state before falling asleep, the cause of practicing great virtuous Dharma, when falling asleep, will cause good dreams. Non-Dharma is the opposite of that. Divine blessing is like the power of the great venerable Katyayana, dreaming from Sara. From any dream that has those four causes, it is called having those causes. The fruit of dreams is experiencing desired and undesired objects in the state of falling asleep, and it also has two types, namely encountering desired objects and near attainment, and encountering undesired objects and near attainment. Any dream that has those fruits is called having them. The self-nature of dreams is that, if examined, although without self-nature, the very cause of the mind that exists and does not exist in name transforms into the object itself. In the state of falling asleep, the very cause of the existing mind transforms into the object itself, and in the state of waking up, the very cause of the non-existing mind transforms into the object itself. In order to show the metaphor of illusion, how illusion arises from the special power of illusionists and mantras and medicines, the self-nature of elephants and bulls and women and places, etc., becomes the object of the senses, although they are without self-nature, but because they are the cause of knowledge confusion, it is said that they exist, thus it is said. Therefore, it also shows the cause, effect, and self-nature of illusion, in order.
