That is what is called "is." Furthermore, existence does not cause existence, because that existence would become meaningless. Non-existence also does not cause existence, because it lacks existence, just like the future, that is what is called "is," and it should be explained in detail. Moreover, the so-called "being existent" refers to, if a small part of something is existent, and a small part is non-existent, or an existent or non-existent that is different from it, then, if existence and non-existence are caused by existence, then, first of all, that small part of existence is not caused by existence, and that existence is not being existent either, why? Because if it is existent, it is not being existent, and being existent does not cause existence either. If a small part of existence exists only in non-existence, then the remaining part must also exist only in non-existence in the same way. Or, if a small part of something exists only in non-existence, and a small part is caused by existence, then what is the difference? If a small part of something's existence is also caused by existence, then non-existence is caused by existence, not being existent causing existence. Furthermore, a small part of something's existence is not caused by existence, because it already exists. Therefore, the remaining non-existence is caused by existence, and in this way, the so-called being existent causing existence becomes unreasonable. If a small part of something's existence is also caused by again existence, then it will not become a special thing caused by existence itself, because for something that already exists, there is no action to be taken again, therefore, being existent does not cause existence. Through these three examinations, even if birth is admitted, it is shown that existence is unreasonable. Now, in order to show that even if birth is not admitted, existence is unreasonable, when the birth of all things is negated by showing that in ultimate truth there is no thing that exists, it is said: How can the unborn exist? Whether birth is admitted or not, things

Considering that "nothing stays" is the conclusion. Therefore, considering that the reason "if it exists, then there is the dharma of arising" is not established, or that the meaning is contradictory, this is the result of valid cognition (pramāṇa). If the reason for the opponent's assertion of existence is established ultimately, then it is not established; if it is established conventionally, then the meaning is contradictory. Furthermore, also, while a thing is decaying, it is not reasonable to stay. Because it is incompatible, if something is incompatible with something, then if it exists, it will not arise. For example, like bright light and darkness. Considering that this is explaining that all things are related to impermanence, therefore it is unreasonable to stay. These are also related in order to the subject, the dharma to be proven, the dharma of proof, and the example. For example, bright light and darkness are incompatible, therefore if light exists, darkness will not arise. Similarly, while a thing is decaying, staying is also incompatible, therefore if decay exists, staying will not arise. If it is said that there is no fault in staying if it is not decaying, then it means that if it does not decay while staying, because staying exists, there is no fault. To show that this is also unreasonable, it is said, "If it is not decaying, then it is not reasonable to be a thing." Because all conditioned things are related to impermanence. This shows that if a thing does not decay while staying, then it is not reasonable to be a thing. To show the same valid cognition, it is also said, "Or it is not a thing, because it is not decaying, like a flower in the sky." These are also related in order to the subject, the dharma to be proven, the dharma of proof, and the example. For example, a flower in the sky is not decaying, therefore it is not a thing. Similarly, not decaying is also bad
