That which is accomplished, co-emergent, and not artificial is called "nature." To speak of "nature" means to say that all things arise from nature. This is the doctrine of the Lokayata (materialist) school, whose great sage is called "World-Eye." The term "those who speak of nature" refers to the followers of the great sage World-Eye's doctrine, which is another name for the Lokayata. Here, "the inner sense bases" are the subject (dharmin), and "to assert that they arise from nature" is the property to be proven (sadhya-dharma). "For the sake of accomplishing various bodies" is the reason (hetu-dharma). For example, the beauty of the colors, shapes, leaves, water, petals, stamens, and hearts of lotuses, and the precious, towering necks of peacocks, which are as blue as sapphires, and the radiant, shimmering plumage of their tail feathers, are all to be applied as examples. Among these, "inner sense bases": "inner" means that which is blessed and established by the self. "Self" means that which is appropriated and possessed, first taking abundant and vast things, and then possessing even inferior and small things, hence it is called "self." That which is blessed and established by the self is called "inner." "Sense bases" means that mind and mental factors arise, occur, increase, and expand, hence they are called "sense bases," such as eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. Regarding these inner sense bases, there is the assertion that they arise from nature, and the reason is for the sake of accomplishing various bodies; these two are the subject here. To assert that they arise from nature means that these inner sense bases do not depend on all things, but are truly accomplished by their own nature, and it is acknowledged that they are co-emergent and not artificial; this is the property to be proven here.

Regarding the dharma to be proven here, it is vowed that it arises from its own nature, and the subject to be proven, namely the internal sources of arising, etc., these two are combined as the probandum. Regarding "because of the various compositions of the body," "body" refers to its own nature. "Various" refers to being diverse, adorned, and embellished. "Composition" refers to the various compositions of the body due to colors such as white, red, blue, yellow, etc., and shapes such as long, short, round, square, etc. This is the proof for vowing here that the internal sources of arising arise from their own nature. And what is that like? Therefore, it is said, "For example," etc. For example, the beauty of the colors of lotuses, etc., and the turquoise blue of the peacock's neck, etc., without any creator, but arising in that way from their own nature, similarly, the various compositions of the bodies of the internal sources of arising, such as colors and shapes, etc., also without any creator, but arising in that way from their own nature, one should make such a vow. Among them, "lotuses, etc." refers to those born from water, therefore lotuses, utpala (Sanskrit, utpala, blue lotus), kumuda (Sanskrit, kumuda, white lotus), fragrant flowers, white lotuses, etc., are generally included. The so-called "beautiful color, shape, leaves, stem, petals, stamen, heartwood" refers to where there is a beautiful color in colors, etc., that is beautiful colors, etc. Therefore, those lotuses, etc., born from water, where there is a beautiful color, a beautiful shape, beautiful leaves, a beautiful stem, beautiful petals, beautiful stamen, a beautiful heartwood, those are beautiful color, shape, leaves, stem, petals, stamen, heartwood. The so-called "like" is, for example, who enters the water and makes the beauty of those colors, etc., of lotuses, etc., diverse, bright, and beautiful? Even if there are many creators, they cannot do it, then a creator and giver

How could that be possible? Just as it is impossible, the various bodies formed by the internal sources, such as color and shape, are also not created by any author, but arise from their own nature, vowing to do so, and so on. "Peacocks, etc." This is an example of those counted as internal sentient beings. Among them, "the jewel of lapis lazuli is huge on the neck, and it is as blue as sapphire," refers to those peacocks whose necks have a huge jewel of lapis lazuli and are as blue as sapphire; those are called "the jewel of lapis lazuli is huge on the neck, and it is as blue as sapphire." Among them, "the jewel of lapis lazuli is huge" means that the proportion of lapis lazuli is very large, so it is called "huge lapis lazuli." "Sapphire" refers to the category of those huge lapis lazuli jewels, which is the jewel Indranila. Therefore, "the jewel of lapis lazuli is huge, and it is as blue as sapphire" means that the neck is so blue. The jewel of lapis lazuli is huge on the necks of those peacocks, and it is as blue as sapphire, and not only that, but also the collection of tail feathers is bright and shiny. Those peacocks whose collection of tail feathers is bright and shiny are called "the collection of tail feathers is bright and shiny." Just like that, for example, the jewel of lapis lazuli is huge on the necks of those peacocks, and it is as blue as sapphire, and the collection of tail feathers is bright and shiny. Who would pick up paint and so on to make various colors and shapes bright and shiny? Even if there are many authors, they cannot do those things. How could one author and giver do that? Just as it is impossible, the various bodies formed by the internal sources, such as color and shape, are also not created by any author, but arise from their own nature.
