Thus it is taught: Even the wife of a cowherd is generally believed to be born from causes such as woolen cloth and coarse cloth. Therefore, your view that the objects of the inner sources of generation are produced from no cause in conventional truth has the fault of contradicting common knowledge. Therefore, you should also think that things are not born from no cause. In this way, for the time being, there is no sudden arising from a non-substantial no-cause. Now, we must refute the arising of things from that which has become a substantial no-cause. Therefore, either the term "no-cause" refers to a bad cause, like saying "no wife," and so on. Or the term "no-cause" refers to a bad cause, which is a cause that disagrees with the tenets that assert self-nature and Ishvara (自在天) as causes, and asserts other things as causes. Among these, "either" means that the term "no-cause" not only refers to the non-substantial no-cause previously taught, but also, in another way, the term "no-cause" can also refer to a bad no-cause that has become substantial. The saying "no-cause means a bad cause" means that it is called no-cause because it is similar to no-cause since it does not perform the function of a cause. That is, even if it exists in essence, that bad cause is called no-cause because it does not produce things. What is that like? For example, like saying "no wife," and so on. For example, a bad wife, although she is a flawed substance, does not perform the function of a wife, so she is called no wife; a bad son, although he is a flawed substance, does not perform the function of a son, so he is called no son. Those tenets that disagree with the tenets that assert self-nature and Ishvara as causes, and assert other things as causes, are also bad causes, and although they are flawed substances, they do not perform the function of a cause, so they are also called no-cause. The saying "What is a bad cause?" refers to the fact that even if no-cause has become a substance, it does not perform the function of a cause. So, what is this "vehicle" called a bad cause? The explanation here itself is a question. In order to answer this question

The commentator said, stating "Self-nature, etc.," which means self-nature, Isvara, Purusha, Pradhana, time, son of the desireless one, etc. The word "etc." includes Brahma, Prajapati, Manu, the appointed one, and the Drubana of the Persians, and the Yuna of the Barbaras. Why are these not causes? Because they are not true. It is said, "Because they are not true," meaning that self-nature, Isvara, Purusha, Pradhana, time, son of the desireless one, Brahma, Prajapati, Manu, the appointed one, Drubana, Yuna, etc., these are not true causes of self-nature, because although they have become things in the conventional sense, they are not producers. Because they are like a bad nothing, they are not causes. Now, the arising from a causeless thing is to be refuted. Therefore, it is said, "Things do not arise from that which is causeless," and so on. If things do not arise from that which is causeless, why is that? Therefore, it is said that because there is no inference showing arising from it, and also because it would become a harm to inference. Understanding this, he spoke these words. He showed this, saying, because there is no inference showing things arising from your self-nature, Isvara, etc. Like this, that is just mere words, therefore things do not arise from a bad cause. Furthermore, all those arguments of yours that establish things arising from your bad causes, self-nature, Isvara, etc., I can refute with inferences, and you will incur harm, therefore things do not arise from a bad cause. The word "also" means that it includes both faults. Understanding this, it means that, like this, because there is no inference showing things arising from your bad causes, self-nature, Isvara, etc., and your side has inference.

Also, because it would be detrimental, things do not arise from bad causes, the Sutra Master thinks so, this is a concluding word. This is a general explanation of the refutation of arising from something that has become a thing without a cause. Now, we will gradually refute those who say that things arise from something that has become a thing without a cause. Among them, first of all, what is the tenet of those who say that something that has become a thing without a cause is self-nature? If things do not arise from self-nature, then how is it? Therefore, in order to explain the tenet of those who first say self-nature. Among them, those who first say self-nature say: The internal sources of arising arise from self-nature, because they accomplish various bodies. For example, the color, shape, leaves, stems, petals, stamens, and beautiful heart of lotuses, and the peacock's neck is like a towering jewel, as blue as lapis lazuli, and the colors of the tail feathers are bright and dazzling, they say. What does this show? Previously, the Madhyamikas said that things do not arise from causelessness, because there is no inference that shows that they arise from it, and it would also be detrimental to inference. To what they said, those who say self-nature cannot bear it because there is an inference that shows the arising of self-nature, so here they also explain the inference that shows the arising of self-nature and their own history. The word "དེ་ལ་" specifically refers to those who say that things arise from something that has become a thing without a cause. The word "རེ་ཞིག་" means depending on the order, among those who say that things arise from something that has become a thing without a cause, it is temporarily explaining the history of those who say self-nature. The meaning of "ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་དུ་སྨྲ་བ་དག་ན་རེ་" is to connect those who say that something that has become a thing without a cause is self-nature with "they say it is like this." The "self-nature" in it refers to that which does not depend on all things, but truly exists by its own self-nature.
