"Is" means that things do not arise from other things. "Proof" means that things do not arise from other things, which is the dharma of proof, because this would lead to all things arising from all things. If these two are reversed, it means that if the statement "things to be proven do not arise from other things" is reversed, then things will arise from themselves, both, or without a cause, and if the statement "proof will lead to all things arising from all things" is reversed, then some things will arise from some things. Therefore, the explanation of the sthavira Buddhapālita is untenable because it is a flawed statement. If things arise from themselves, both, or without a cause, or some things arise from some things, what is the fault? Therefore, he said, "This will contradict the previous position." Just as the teacher said in the previous position, "Any thing, wherever it is, has never existed." Therefore, things do not arise from themselves, both, or without a cause, and he did not promise that some things would arise from some things. However, this explanation of the sthavira Buddhapālita says that things will arise from themselves, both, or without a cause, and that some things will arise from some things. Therefore, this will contradict the teacher's previous position. If, in order to avoid the fault of the sthavira Buddhapālita contradicting the previous position, he says, "If I do not reverse my things to be proven and proof, what is the fault?" Therefore, he said, "Even in other cases, it will lead to all things arising from all things." Because this has no proof and refutation, it is meaningless. Here, "even in other cases" means that even if the explanation of the sthavira Buddhapālita does not reverse the things to be proven and proof, but retains it literally. Then, what is the fault of "it will lead to all things arising from all things"? Therefore, for this point, proof and re

It is said, "Because there is no refutation." If what is to be established here is the statement, "Things do not arise from others," then, because the explanation of the venerable Buddhapālita says, "It would follow that everything arises from everything," saying that everything arises from everything is not a tenet of a school. Therefore, it does not even have its own establishment. Moreover, the explanation of the venerable Buddhapālita does not mention any of the faults of the school that contradict direct perception, etc. Therefore, it does not even have the refutation of others, so there is a fault. To show the fault of not having establishment and refutation, it is said, "That is because there is no meaningful connection." Like this, previously it was said, "Things do not arise from others," and after that, it was said, "It would follow that everything arises from everything." In that case, one's own previous statement that there is no arising, and after that, saying that everything arises from everything, these two have no meaningful connection, so this explanation is not valid. To show an example of why the explanation is not valid because there is no meaningful connection, it is said, "For example, alpine columbine and gooseberries are beneficial for plagues, for prostitutes, there is nothing that is lovable, bamboo arrows are heavy and have flavor, the moon's rays are cool in hot weather," it will become like that. For example, in this verse showing medicine, enjoying desire, being skilled in cooking, and the situation of the seasons, the four roots have no meaningful connection between the beginning and the end, similarly, the explanation of the venerable Buddhapālita, even if the establishment and the argument are not overturned and remain as they are, previously it was said, "Things do not arise from others," and after that, it was said, "It would follow that everything arises from everything," for that, because there is no establishment and refutation, that is because there is no meaningful connection, so this explanation is not valid. Therefore, like this, the statement "Things do not arise from others" is the conclusion showing that things do not arise from others.
