Therefore, it is called "because." An example of a valid inference from effect to cause is, "There is fire here, because there is smoke." In this case, for example, the subject of the argument is "things that share the same cause," etc., which are agreed upon by both the proponent and the opponent. Regarding the effect, such as the eye and other internal sense bases that have become other, in relation to those that are known as otherness, the dharma to be established from them, which is determined to be non-causal, is agreed upon by both the proponent and the opponent. And the fact that it is determined to be non-causal is the dharma to be established, which is agreed upon by both the proponent and the opponent. Because these two exist, that is the subject of the argument. That is, the subject of the argument, such as things that share the same cause, etc., is determined to be non-causal, because it is other. Similarly, here too, the subject of the argument is "those that are intended to be expressed as other, such as the eye and other internal sense bases that are established," etc., which are agreed upon by both the proponent and the opponent. Because those exist, that is also the subject of the argument. That is, the subject of the argument, "those that are intended to be expressed as other, such as the eye and other internal sense bases that are established," etc., are also determined to be non-causal, because they are non-other. For example, like things that share the same cause, etc. Thus, it is connected. Therefore, whatever is otherness is determined to be non-causal. For example, like things that share the same cause, etc. Those that are intended to be expressed as other, such as the eye and other internal sense bases that are established, etc., are also otherness, so therefore they are also determined to be non-causal. If they are similar in otherness, then those that are intended to be expressed as other, such as the eye and other internal sense bases that are established, etc., are considered to be causal, while things that share the same cause, etc., are considered to be non-causal. Then, at that time, this cause, those that are intended to be expressed as other, such as the eye and other internal sense bases that are established, etc., are considered to be causal, and this cause, things that share the same cause,

Therefore, it is necessary to state the reason for the distinction, which is to consider "that" and so on as not being causes. Because those who speak of causes do not consider other situations such as homogeneous causes as being causes. Therefore, the other that one wants to state, that is, those that accomplish the internal sources of arising such as the eye, are also definitely established as non-causes because they are other. Furthermore, why are the causes of things considered to be causes? If it is because they accomplish the attainment of the nature of otherness that has not been attained, then if the other that one wants to state, that is, those that accomplish the internal sources of arising such as the eye, are already "other" before becoming causes, then what is the use of examining whether those are causes? Because it is said (in the scriptures) that "other is not the cause of other." Furthermore, the negation will also become inconsistent, if it is already "other," then it is not the cause of other, and if it is to be the cause of other, then it is not "other." Furthermore, in the world, it is contradictory for "other" to be the cause of other. For example, in the world, the other that is clearly able to perform activities such as holding honey, water, milk, etc. in a pot is not seen as being the cause of other. If one truly negates the causes of all internal and external phenomena as not being causes, then why here are those that one wants to state, that is, those that accomplish the internal sources of arising such as the eye, taken as the subject? This is because: That which is seen in one thing, One wishes to see in all. Whatever is the emptiness of one, That is the emptiness of all. According to the reason stated in this way, if it is established that those that one wants to state, that is, those that accomplish the internal sources of arising such as the eye, are not causes, then all causes, including external causes, are also established as being non-causes. And, if one takes those that one wants to state, that is, those that accomplish the internal sources of arising such as the eye, as the subject, then other external causes and so on can be used as reasons and examples, therefore here those that one wants to state, that is, those that accomplish the internal sources of arising such as the eye, are taken as the subject.
