That place, whatever it is, although it is not the realm of words, but establishes and shows the Dharma, therefore, how could it be unreasonable for the Bhagavan to show it that way? It is only reasonable. Also, some people think like this: for the sake of benefiting all beings, what is it that shows the suchness of Dharma, which is free from discrimination and auspicious, and pacifies all elaborations? In order to dispel such doubts, to the Buddha Bhagavan, the basis of whose nature is called the suchness of Dharma, the nature that possesses the merit of destroying the darkness of evil wisdom, expressing it with a unique uncommon characteristic, I prostrate and praise the one who shows this. If asked, how should "who" and "to that" be connected? Like this, because of the meaning, words can be transformed and connected. For example, like saying, "Call that Devadatta who built the house," similarly here, it is connected as prostration and praise to the suchness of Dharma shown by the Buddha Bhagavan. In that way, with those ways of showing as stated, some people previously thought, with what kind of nature did the Bhagavan realize and show the suchness? The suchness of Dharma is without letters, so how did he show it? For what purpose did he show it? For those who have such thoughts, the answer to what was said is a detailed explanation. With what kind of nature did he realize and show the suchness? He realized and showed the suchness with four natures, or three natures, or one nature. The suchness of Dharma is without letters, so how did he show it? Although it is not the realm of words, he established and showed it. For what purpose did he show it? He showed it for the sake of benefiting all beings, this is a detailed explanation. Thus, to the Bhagavan, with the suchness of Dharma possessing the inconceivable supreme fruit of self and other benefits, praising by expressing its qualities, and through showing the special fruit of the treatise, having necessity, and eliminating the path of others' seeking fault, whoever does this is the wise one who explains the treatise. Most other people cannot tolerate the arrogance of the detailed explanation made by the teacher Śīlabhadra.

If the author of this sutra, in a fearless manner, merely elucidates the nature of the Prajñāpāramitā, then because he has already explained it in the beginning, there is no need to create an explanation like weaving. If he elucidates here what was not elucidated there, then it is unreasonable to explain beyond the sutra with one's own wisdom, and therefore it will be refuted. Therefore, in order to eliminate the two one-sided views of the interpreter initially proceeding from himself, the teacher said that he merely follows, refutes, and clarifies the verses, and merely elucidates the nature of the Prajñāpāramitā, which has the pacifying of the net of evil views. However, because some Brahmacharis do not understand, therefore, in order to make them understand, he said that he will explain the Madhyamaka treatise as it is. The teacher said "teacher" to indicate that he has abandoned arrogance. "Verses" refers to the fact that they are both verses and actors, that is, those who fulfill wishes, manifest, and accomplish. "Merely" refers to merely through these verses, therefore there is no personal talent here. The so-called "following, refuting, and clarifying" refers to, in order to establish one's own side, clarifying the clarity of reasoning, and merely clarifying it; in order to destroy the other's side, clarifying the clarity of refutation, and merely clarifying it. This is following, refuting, and clarifying. The so-called "clarity of reasoning" refers to the fact that the letters, words, and language are very pure. The so-called "merely" refers to not being apparent reasoning. Alternatively, "clarity" refers to the nature of words, and "merely" refers to the nature of meaning. Similarly, "clarity of refutation" also refers to the fact that the letters, words, and language are very pure.
