Therefore, "I prostrate to that" means that prostrating to that is synonymous with this, which should be revered. Here, some say, if it is dependent arising, how can it be without arising? If it is without arising, then it should not be said to be dependent arising, therefore it contradicts one's own words and becomes a fault of breaking the vow, because he himself denies that meaning. For example, it is like saying "all that is said is a lie." This is because the previous opponents did not find the fault of the famous sound of dependent arising in grammar, so here they use rational tricks to read other rational treatises, and use the fault of sound to accuse. Among them, "here" means this occasion when the sound of dependent arising is established in this way. Some say, this is what the previous opponents said. If it is dependent arising, how can it be without arising? If it is without arising, then it should not be said to be dependent arising, therefore it contradicts one's own words and becomes a fault of breaking the vow, this is a view. Among them, "If, dependent arising, then, how can it be without arising?" means: Like this, you, the Madhyamika, say that dependent arising has the characteristics of being without arising, etc. Here, dependent arising is the basis of difference, and without arising, etc. are its differences. Therefore, here, the word dependent arising and the word without arising are contradictory, if it is dependent arising, then how can it be without arising? If it is without arising, then it should not be said to be dependent arising, this is also like this, you, the Madhyamika, say that dependent arising has the characteristics of being without arising, etc., here, without arising, etc. are the differences, and dependent arising is the basis of their differences, therefore, here.

The sound of "no arising" contradicts the sound of "dependent arising." If it is said to be without arising, then it is impossible to say it is dependent arising, they say. The meaning of "becoming a fault of contradicting one's own words and vows" is that, therefore, you Madhyamikas contradict your own vows and become a fault of violating vows. Because you say it is dependent arising and also say it is without arising, this contradicts your own words. Saying it is without arising and also saying it is dependent arising becomes a fault of violating vows, they say. "Because he himself slandered its meaning" is a characteristic of a thesis. The meaning of "because he himself slandered its meaning" is that when he promises that it is dependent arising, he himself slanders the meaning of "no arising." When he promises that it is without arising, he himself slanders the meaning of "dependent arising," they say. For example, it is like saying, "All words spoken are lies." This is an example. The meaning of "for example, all words spoken are lies" is that it shows the example that is well-known in treatises on reasoning. For example, someone says, "All words spoken by Bharata and others are lies." Furthermore, for example, if someone says, "All words spoken by Bharata and others are lies" in order to prove that his own words are true, then the word "spoken" and the word "all" also include his own words in them. Therefore, in order to prove that his own words are true, this also contradicts his own words and becomes a fault of promising that the words of Bharata and others are false. Just as the statement "All words spoken are lies" itself also slanders the meaning of his own spoken words, similarly, here too, it can be determined that you Madhyamikas also contradict your own words and become a fault of violating vows. Like this, dependent arising

To say "it is" and also say "unborn" is self-contradictory. To say "dependent arising" itself denies the meaning of "unborn." To say "unborn" and also say "dependent arising" would be to commit the fault of breaking a vow. To say "unborn" itself denies the meaning of "dependent arising." Those former debaters, because they did not find an opportunity to criticize the word "dependent arising" with the definition of sound famous in grammar, therefore here use rational trickery to read other rational treatises, and accuse with the fault of sound, they say it that way. Here, an explanation is made in response to that debater. If one promises that all dependent arising is unborn, then there would also be such a fault. Because the word "all" includes the admission of conventional dependent arising, and also admits that dependent arising exists in the ultimate sense, and does not deny it, therefore the reason is not established, thus it is said. The word "that" is for stating the meaning of synonyms that avoid self-contradiction. Here, the truths of the Buddhists are of two types, namely conventional truth and ultimate truth. In order to explain how it becomes self-contradictory in the conventional sense, it is said, "If one promises that all dependent arising is unborn, then there would also be such a fault." The view of the Madhyamikas is that in the conventional sense, all things are considered to arise from their respective determined causes and conditions. Here, if the Madhyamikas say that in the conventional sense all things arise from their respective determined causes and conditions, then afterwards, without distinction, promising that all things are unborn in the conventional sense, then there would be the fault of self-contradiction. Because one does not promise that way, therefore not
