What are the merits? What are the differences? Therefore, all the habitual tendencies of afflictions are connected, all arising from all aspects are completely eliminated, fainting with the intoxication of samadhi, those abide in the uncontaminated realm of reality. Thus it is said. How is it taught? The habitual tendencies of afflictions exist, but the complete arising of afflictions does not exist, abiding as if fainting without consciousness. Therefore, it is said in that very text: Just as an elephant that has fallen into a swamp does not run back and forth, so do the Shravakas who are immersed in the intoxication of samadhi remain in that way. When those awaken after a long time has passed, they are urged by the Tathagatas, and although the afflictions are exhausted, they constantly show birth in order to obtain power over birth, and they also accomplish the accumulation of merit and wisdom, and they also abandon the connection of habitual tendencies, and thus they attain the state of omniscience. In that very text, it says: Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, by meditating on the samadhi that destroys habitual tendencies from the root, realize the uncontaminated realm of Dharma. Furthermore, after completely perfecting the collections of realizing the uncontaminated realm of Dharma that transcends the world, they will attain the mastery over the inconceivable Dharmakaya. As it is said: Just as a drunken person, when separated from wine, awakens, so those attain my body, called Buddha Dharma. As it is said, therefore, the statement that there is only one vehicle is well spoken. In the chapter taught by the noble Truth-Speaker, it is also said: I do not have separate establishments of the Shravaka and Pratyekabuddha vehicles. Why is that? Because the Tathagata is free from various kinds of conceptualizations. If the Tathagata shows the Mahayana to some beings, the Pratyekabuddha vehicle to some beings, and the Shravaka vehicle to some beings, then that would also become the Tathagata's mind being completely impure, and it would also become the fault of obvious attachment, and it would also become the great compassion being one-sided, and it would also become the fault of various kinds of conceptualizations.

If I were to liken the study of Dharma to a teacher's demonstration, then, whatever Dharma I teach to sentient beings, all of it is like this: it is for the sake of attaining all-knowing wisdom, inclining towards Bodhi, entering the Mahayana, inclining towards all-knowingness, and enabling (beings) to correctly attain one aspect. Just as (the Buddha) said, therefore, there is no need to differentiate between different vehicles. In the treatises of other schools, it is also said: If someone fully demonstrates and becomes accustomed to these four miraculous legs, and does so many times, then if he wishes, he will enter into a kalpa or more than a kalpa. More than a kalpa means that in countless kalpas, he cultivates the Buddha's Dharma by blessing his life, thereby fully awakening to the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete Bodhi. Therefore, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, prevent those with the Buddha-nature and those with uncertain natures from generating the Bodhicitta of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. This is because those who abide in that Samadhi completely lose the opportunity to benefit limitless sentient beings, and their faculties such as faith also become dull, like those who die and transmigrate from the peak of existence into the heretics. Those with the nature of Sravakas and Pratyekabuddhas are placed in the blissful abode of Nirvana, and then they will attain the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete Bodhi in the same order. Fifth fascicle. The incidental explanation ends here. Now we must begin to elaborate on the main topic. So, what are the names with the same meaning as the eight words that were spoken, such as "no cessation"? What does "no cessation" refer to? And what does it refer to between "no cessation" and "not one meaning"? Therefore, the so-called "cessation" means "destruction." Destruction, non-existence, and decay, these are what is called "cessation." The so-called "birth" means "arising." Arising, existence, and growth, these are what is called "birth." The so-called "cut off" means "interruption." The so-called "continuous" means

Continuously, without interruption, connected. For example, the burning flame of a lamp, and the continuous flow of a stream of water. Interruption means being cut off in the middle and not occurring, which is called interruption. Permanent means existing at all times, that is, having a state of existence at all times. In whatever way it was previously indicated, it is indicated in the same way later and does not change, that is called permanent. Coming means coming towards this side, that is, coming from a distant place to a nearby place, which is called coming. Going means going towards that side, that is, going from a nearby place to a distant place, which is called going. Different meanings mean that the meanings are different, that is, the meanings of color, sound, shape, and qualities are different, for example, water and fire, which is called different meanings. One meaning means that the meanings are not different, that is, not other, wherever the meanings of color, sound, shape, and qualities are not different, for example, not water and fire, that is called one meaning. Among them, no cessation means that there is no cessation in this, how is this shown? The cessation shown by the words destruction, non-existence, and decay, in the way of not realizing the reality of Dharma, there is none in this realization. Thus, there is not even a little to be realized in it. As it is said in the scriptures: There is not even a speck of Dharma as an object in it, therefore it is called unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment. Therefore, whether it is external or internal, mundane or supramundane, there is no cessation in any Dharma, because there is no object, it is called no cessation. Up to the non-one meaning, it also means that there is no one meaning in this, how is this shown? Just as the cessation shown by the words destruction, non-existence, and decay, in the way of not realizing the reality of Dharma, there is none in this realization, similarly, birth, severance, permanence, coming,
