Therefore, "This existing, this arises" means that because there are external seeds, as well as the elements of earth, water, fire, wind, space, and time, sprouts arise. Because there are internal actions and afflictions, as well as semen, blood, earth, water, fire, wind, space, and consciousness, things like coagulation, softness, length, hardness, and limb movement arise. "This arising, this arises" means that because there are no conditions contrary to external arising, sprouts arise, and consequently, leaves, stems, trunks, buds, flowers, grains, husks, chaff, and abundant fruits arise. Because there are no contrary internal conditions, things like coagulation, softness, length, hardness, and limb movement arise, and consequently, the body at the time of conception arises. Furthermore, "This existing, this arises" means that because there are the faculties of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, as well as forms, sounds, smells, tastes, tactile objects, and phenomena, the consciousnesses of eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind arise as a result. "This arising, this arises" means that when eye consciousness and so on arise, feelings, thoughts, intentions, desires, contact, and many other mental factors that arise simultaneously with them also arise. Similarly, this should be applied to things like pots and blankets as well. Regarding the meaning of "having this condition," "having this condition" refers to the arising that depends on causes and conditions, that is, "this existing, this arises; this arising, this arises," just as was explained earlier. "It is the meaning of dependent origination" means that the meaning of "having this condition," which is "this existing, this arises; this arising, this arises," is explained as "it is the meaning of dependent origination." This is a concluding statement. Here, some say: If before arising,

If the fruit arises after encountering the cause and condition, then it will become known as dependent arising, if that is the case. Before arising, the fruit does not encounter the cause and condition, because it does not exist. Therefore, the statement of dependent arising is not established. If one says that there is no fault in admitting that "dependent arising" and "arising" occur simultaneously, but in the statement of dependent arising, two actions cannot exist simultaneously. Because there is the saying "between," like "take a bath and then eat." Even without an agent, an action without a basis is not possible, because it does not exist, like the son of a barren woman walking, so they say. This is the word of grammarians refuting Buddhists. Here, it is said that when the meaning of dependent arising is established by scripture and reasoning, all the objections of outsiders are disheartened, just like this, all those who claim no cause and those who claim dissimilar causes are disheartened. Some say that they themselves are here, without opportunity, following the marks of grammarians, refuting like enemies, some say so. If one says "before arising," that is, if one says before the time of the fruit's arising, that is, until the time when the fruit has not arisen. Fruit refers to the fruit of a sprout or eye consciousness. Encountering the cause and condition means going to the cause and condition, encountering the cause and condition, or finding the cause and condition. Later arising means that after that, the fruit, the sprout, or the eye consciousness arises. Therefore, it will become known as dependent arising, that is, Buddhists can say dependent arising. If Buddhists, in order to establish dependent arising, abandon their own argument and say that before arising, the fruit encounters the cause and condition and then arises, then,

Why doesn't the result meet with conditions before it arises? Therefore, it is said, "the external realm of non-existence." If it is said that the result meets with conditions before it arises, then at that time, the nature of the result has not arisen, and because it does not exist, it does not meet with conditions. Just as the Buddhist scriptures say, conditioned phenomena arise from what has not arisen. Therefore, if it is said that the sound of dependent arising cannot be established, then, as the reason stated earlier, the sound of dependent arising of the Buddhas cannot be established. If it is said that there is no fault in admitting that "dependent arising" and "arising" are simultaneous, then the word "also" is the grammarian himself raising a doubt based on the Buddhist idea. If the Buddhists admit that the result arises only at the time of dependent arising, then the fault previously stated that there is no result, so it does not meet with conditions, also disappears, and the sound of dependent arising can be established, if they say so. If the Buddhists say that, then the Buddhists should be asked, how does the result arise and dependently arise simultaneously when it does not exist? Or does it dependently arise when it exists? After asking that, if the Buddhists admit that because the result did not exist before, it dependently arises, therefore it is called dependent arising, then the answer to them is that the sound of dependent arising, two actions cannot exist simultaneously, because it is said "like," for example, saying "eat after bathing." Here, the word "sound of dependent arising" is the subject, the word "two actions cannot exist simultaneously" is the property to be established, the word "because it is said 'like'" is the establishing property, and the word "like 'eat after bathing'" is the example, to be combined in this way. Among them, the word "sound of dependent arising" is the result.
