These three have the fortune of liberation. Those who do not heed advice do not have the fortune of liberation in this life, so the Blessed One does not teach them the Dharma, because the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, do not teach the Dharma without result. These four people should be understood as being like four horses. For example, some horses run knowing the rider's intention, some horses run seeing the shadow of the whip, some horses run after being whipped, and some inferior horses cannot run even when whipped. Similarly, for those who understand by mentioning the beginning, the Buddha, the Blessed One, is the unsurpassed tamer of beings, and upon hearing the teaching of liberation, they are liberated from the prison of the three realms. For example, like the venerable Ajnata Kaundinya, because he understands the taste of desire and the faults of desire. The so-called understanding of the taste of desire means that the taste of desire is small, like licking a tongue that has been smeared with a drop of honey on the edge of a sword. The so-called faults of desire, in short, are many faults. For example, desires are full of suffering and strife. In detail, desires are like bones because of their small taste; desires are like a piece of meat because they are shared by many; desires are like a grass lamp because they are short-lived; desires are like a flame of a torch because they are extremely burning; desires are small because they do not last long; desires are like illusions because they are temporary; desires are like fruits on the top of a tree because they are recognized after being broken; desires are like the edge of a sword because they are particularly sharp; desires are like the tip of a short spear because they must pierce; desires are like the head of a snake because they are accompanied by destruction; desires are like a waterfall because they are difficult to collect and protect.

, desires are like illusions with the purpose of deceiving children; desires are like darkness in the sense that the eyes cannot function; desires are like blocking the path in the sense of hindering virtue; desires are like delusion in the sense of causing memory to fail; desires are like bonds in the sense of attachment; desires are like deception in the sense of expulsion; desires are like robbers in the sense of stealing qualities; desires are like meat-eaters in the sense of creating strife; desires are like suffering in the sense of making one miserable, this is called fault. Renunciation is the teaching of impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness. Just as Kauṇḍinya said, "Is the eye impermanent?" "Yes, Blessed One." Understanding through elaborating on the person is from the distinction between brief instruction and detailed explanation, showing renunciation by seeing faults, and renunciation arising from hearing renunciation. Because one recognizes the taste as small, because one recognizes the faults as great, because one does not recognize renunciation. The person who needs to be guided is the one who is shown the taste as small, shown the faults as great, and renunciation arises from hearing renunciation. Because of excessive attachment to desires, because of not recognizing the taste as small, because of not recognizing the faults as great, because of not recognizing renunciation. Here, it is said that because one wants to mainly grasp and understand the inferences of people, one should know that this is understood by mentioning the person. In this way, merely hearing a summary of the Dharma and the Dharmic, one can infer and manifest the Dharma and examples of one's own side; merely obtaining the Dharma of the side, one can manifest one's own side and examples; merely hearing the example, one can manifest one's own reason and vow. Therefore, this shows the object for whom the treatise is composed, which is composed for the purpose of benefiting others with the characteristics of the fruit.
