It does not come from another, it does not come from both, nor does it arise without a cause. Whatever things are, wherever they are, they never arise. Such things have already been explained in the context of preventing movement and arising. Furthermore, 'For the moment, the goer does not go,' this is the establishment of the proposition. 'For the moment, the goer goes, how does it become reasonable?' Such things are to be explained. As it has been said, it should be explained in detail. This indicates that: Before, 'For the moment, the goer does not go, the goer is neither going nor not going.' From what has been said in this proposition, 'For the moment, the goer does not go,' this is the first proposition. 'For the moment, the goer goes, how does it become reasonable?' 'If there is no going, then the goer will never be reasonable.' These four verses indicate that when there is no going in the past, not yet gone, and the present going, and when there is no arising of going from self, other, both, and without cause. 'If there is no going, then the goer will never be reasonable.' As it is said, 'For the moment, the goer goes, how does it become reasonable?' Because there is no going, the goer himself will not be established, it should be explained in detail. Therefore, even though there is no going in the ultimate sense, if someone fabricates and says that the goer goes, even though the goer is not truly existent, then, because the previous reasoning has already proven that there is no going, therefore, even though there is no going in the ultimate sense. If here, some who speak of going are ashamed, because the goer Lhasbyin does not go and is not truly existent, so they fabricate and say that there is going, and say that the goer goes. If they say so, then as an answer to them, the author of this treatise says: 'In which school of thought, the goer wants to go, then in that school of thought, it will become a goer without going and moving. Why? Because they want the goer to go.'

English

The reason for saying "returning" is that they want the non-goer to go. This would lead to the non-goer becoming a goer. To illustrate this point, it is like this: if there is no going, then the goer will not possess going, therefore it is considered so. It is said that even though there is no going in the ultimate truth, out of shame, they fabricate that the goer has real going and say that the goer is going. Therefore, if there is no going, then the goer will not possess going, which would lead to the non-goer becoming a goer, this is the scholar's thought. Or, in order to complete the only existing going, that is to say, or, for whichever side, the goer, for that going, there is no going, this would lead to the goer, wanting to go. The meaning of this verse is that for whichever side, the goer who wants to go, there is no going, this would lead to the goer. Another explanation is that in order to connect the only existing act of going with "going" and make it complete, because the goer does not have the act of going, therefore there is no going. This would lead to the non-goer becoming a goer. Twenty-fifth chapter. If one wants to completely eliminate that fault by considering that the goer possesses the going of the ultimate truth, then, if all Madhyamikas think that if there is no going, then one cannot become a goer, and if one is not a goer, then one cannot establish the name "going", wanting to completely eliminate this fault, so it is said that the goer possesses the going of the ultimate truth, that is, possesses the characteristic of moving, therefore becomes a goer, therefore the goer itself is also established, and if the goer is established, then the name "the goer goes" can also be established. If it is said like this, then as an answer, the author of this treatise says that even so, if the goer goes, then the going will become two.

English

It is a reductio ad absurdum, by which the goer is manifested, and having become a goer, goes. Thus it is said. If the goer possesses going, then it would become the fault of two goings, meaning: if the goer possesses the going of ultimate truth, then it would become the fault of two goings. How is it? Meaning the opponent says: How would it become the fault of two goings? This is a question. Which are the two? The goer of which going, called manifestation, means one, that is, by possessing which going of ultimate truth, that goer is manifested and clearly becomes a goer. Having become a goer, what is the going of going? Meaning the second, that is, having been established as the goer itself, what is the going of going by another going? Here the opponent says: Before, you Madhyamikas said that we who speak of goers would become the fault of a goer without going, but now you yourselves have established that there are two goings, therefore the goer is also established, and the desired meaning is established. In order to answer this previous view raised from the heart, here the commentator does not establish that you have two goings, but if you think that the goer possesses the going of ultimate truth, then it will become the fault of two goings. If you think of two goings in the way of establishing them, then, becoming the fault of two goings, the goer will also become two, because without a goer, going is not reasonable. This fault also exists, so this other fault must also be stated. Why would it become the fault of two goings, and the goer would also become two? Because, it means depending on the basis, thus it is said, meaning: the action of going depends on the basis, the goer, therefore, if you become two goers, it is impossible for one goer to have two goings, therefore, the goer will also become the fault of two, the master thinks so. The goer of no goer himself.
