Even if it is not pervaded by arising itself, just as considering something that has just arisen as the reason, calling it "arising itself," is like considering a dharma of a side as the reason itself, my reason, "having action," is similar to that, so your accusation is not good. In order to summarize and show the result of valid cognition, and also to refute that "having action" also has going. Therefore, it is said, "The meaning of the reason is not unestablished." For example, although it cannot be definitively said that something that has just arisen is only impermanent, just as considering a dharma of a side as the reason, here too, although it cannot be definitively said that something having action is only non-going, but because a dharma of a side can be a reason. The meaning of my reason, namely "having action," is not unestablished. This also answers that "separation from going" is the reason. This is a statement for the Madhyamikas to understand regarding the proponents of going. If the proponents of going say this, the Madhyamikas previously said, "The non-goer is not going." When proving this, in ultimate truth, the non-goer also does not go, because it is separate from going, just like other things. The reason for this argument they stated, namely "separation from going," is because it does not pervade the similar side, so the meaning of the reason is not established. Like this, if the reason pervades all similar sides, then the meaning of the reason is established. You Madhyamikas, when proving "The non-goer is not going," the similar side is mountains and sons of barren women, etc., which are non-going things. Your reason, "separation from going," although it exists on the similar side, the mountain, it does not exist on things like sons of barren women, etc., therefore, because it does not pervade the similar side, the meaning of the reason is not established. If they say this, then here, the commentary itself makes it understood that "this also answers that 'separation from going' is the reason," through the reasoning previously shown that the meaning of the reason "having action" is not unestablished, this "separation from going"

That is to say, the answer to the statement that "the meaning of the reason is not established" has also been given. It is stated here that because it must be determined that "the state of being separated from going is precisely not going," for example, although it cannot be determined that "the state of just arising is precisely impermanent," it is considered to be a part of the dharma, so it is a reason. For "the state of being separated from going," also because it negates going, it is combined with "the meaning of the reason is not established." If it is said that a stayer can be both a non-goer and a goer, so admitting a stayer is not an example, because it does not possess the aspect of the dharma to be proven, this is the Madhyamika's answer to the doubts of the goers. If the goers say this, the Madhyamika previously said, "For a while, the goer does not go," when proving that, in reality, the goer does not go, because he has a function, like a stayer, if he says such words, taking the example from the stayer is not established, because the stayer is not necessarily a stayer at all times, because at any time, as long as the state of the stayer has not stopped and has not gone, then during that time he is not a goer but a stayer, and at any time, as long as the state of the stayer has stopped and started to go, then at that time he is not a stayer but also a goer, so if such a stayer is admitted by you as an example, then there is no example, because he has both staying and not going, and also has possessing and going, so he does not possess the aspect of the dharma to be proven, "not going." If it is said like that, in response to such a statement, it is said that here, because the interpreter himself believes that both aspects to be proven are recognized, the stayer can be used as an example, so there is no fault. What I want to prove is not going, and as long as the stayer has not stood up and is not going, then during that time, the aspect of not going is recognized by both the proponent and the opponent. Therefore, the stayer can be used as an example during that time.
