It is said to prove that those people believe there is walking. "Not without walking," means not invisible, but existing. Like this: Wherever there is movement, there is walking. And for whose walking is that? Movement is neither gone nor not gone. Therefore, walking has walking. This is the verse of the former position. That is, wherever the movement of raising and placing the foot is visible, there is walking, that is, because the movement of raising and placing the foot is visible in the direction of walking, there is walking in that direction, and movement and walking mean the same thing. And for whose sake does movement appear in walking? Movement does not appear in what has passed or not passed, therefore walking has walking. Walking means the path now trodden by the foot. Now the movement and walking of raising and placing the foot are visible, so there is walking. This is shown by saying: For whose sake does movement appear in walking? Movement does not appear in what has passed, so movement appears on the path called walking, so walking itself has walking. In this way, the teacher himself also said: Here, wherever movement is visible, there is walking, and for whose sake does movement appear in walking? Movement does not appear in what has passed, nor does it appear in what has not passed, therefore, walking itself does not have walking. Therefore, in this way, because there is walking, walking is established, so the wish is fulfilled, that is, in this way, because there is walking, walking is established there, therefore, what we wish, the reality of things is only arising, in order to make a designation that conforms to those things, so it is said that it is established. Therefore, in this way, in the manner of what has been said, walking will not be understood. Whatever is said in this way is illogical and will not be a detriment to the inference shown to both sides. This sentence shows that walking is not in the category of the path that has passed and not passed.

Therefore, it is not that there is no going, and it will not become an obstacle to the inference that indicates both the gone and the not-gone. Others say that the word "whose" refers to the goer, which is a distortion of the words of the previous party. Where there is movement, there is going. And also on whose step? Movement is neither gone nor not gone. Therefore, in the step there is going. In that context, the elder Buddhapalita explains the word "whose" in this way. If the way of connecting the word "whose" is different, what difference will there be? To this, the previous commentators themselves say that in the place of the step, where the movement of the characteristics of lifting and placing the foot appears, there is going. And for whom does that movement appear on the step? That movement does not appear on the gone, nor does it appear on the not-gone, therefore there is going in the step, they explain. Therefore, they connect the word "whose" with "for whom". Therefore, "where", "there", and "on the step" have the same meaning, referring to the road that is now being trodden by the foot. The so-called "movement" and "going" themselves also have the same meaning, which is the act of going. Therefore, where there is movement on the path of the step, there is going, and for whom there is movement on the path of the step, therefore there is going on the path of the step, they explain. The elder Buddhapalita explains that in the place of the goer's step path, where the movement of the characteristics of lifting and placing the foot appears, there is going, and that movement also exists on the goer's step path, and it appears there. That movement does not appear on the gone, nor does it appear on the not-gone, therefore there is going in the step. Therefore, they connect the word "whose" with "the goer's whose". Therefore, here too, "where", "there", and "on the step" have the same meaning, referring to the road that is now being trodden by the foot. The two words "movement" and "going" also have the same meaning, which is the act of going. Therefore, the goer's whose step's
