An example is needed, because as it is said, whatever pervades what is to be proven and the reason is a similar example. Among them, what is to be proven is called "dharma," because what is to be proven itself is dharma, so what is to be proven is dharma. What is that? In this case, it should be understood as "no movement." The dharma that can prove is called the dharma that can prove no movement, which is the reason. What is that? In this case, it should be understood as "not gone." Due to the power of these two, that is to say, on the road that has not been gone, due to the existence of the dharma to be proven, that is, no movement, and the existence of the dharma that can prove, that is, not gone itself, it is necessary to point out another road that does not want to move as an example of that thing. In order to point this out, it is said "a subject with a dharma recognized by both parties," that is to say, on the road that has not been gone, it is necessary to point out an example that both the opponent and the counter-opponent recognize the dharma to be proven, that is, no movement, and that has the dharma that can prove, that is, not gone itself. So, what is this subject that can be pointed out as an example? Therefore, it is said "like a road that does not want to move." The road that has not been gone is another road that does not want to move. This road also has the dharma to be proven that is recognized by both parties, that is, no movement, and the dharma that can prove, that is, not gone itself. Therefore, the example is due to the power of the thing to be proven and the dharma that can prove, it is said "a subject with a dharma recognized by both parties, that is, a road that does not want to move." Here, "the inference here is" refers to the case where it is pointed out that if you have not gone, you have not moved, here the words that combine inference, reason and example, refers to the following close combination of subject, dharma to be proven, dharma that can prove and example. For "If you have not gone, you have not moved, because you have not gone. For example, like other roads that do not want to move," here, the word "not gone" is the subject, "no movement"

That which is called "that" is the dharma to be proven. That which is called "because it is ungone" is the dharma of proof. For example, it is applied as an example, like a path that one does not wish to go other than that. For example, one does not wish to go on a path other than the ungone path, because it is an ungone path. Just as there is no going there, the ungone path itself is also ungone, so there is no going there either. To this, the Uluka school says: Does the ungone path show that there is no going because Devadatta has not produced the act of going? Or does it show that there is no going because there is no act of going? This is when the author of the treatise explains the proof, among the various heretics, those who are called the Uluka school, who believe in substance, analyze and blame the meaning vowed by the author of the treatise. Therefore, two questions are asked with "Is it that the ungone path," and so on. What will that become? This is a counter-question. If one thinks like the first counter-question, then it is proving what is already established, because the ungone path has not produced the act of going, so there is no going, which is established for all the world. Or, if one thinks like the latter counter-question, then it is a fault because the meaning of the reason itself is contradictory, because whatever is ungone, it is seen in the world that it goes by later producing the act of going, therefore, you have also made that later producing the act of going into the subject of no going, therefore, it is excluded. Therefore, the meaning of the former reason is not unestablished, because it is not so, the ungone path is not without going, but there is going.

It does not prevent without investigation, but like this, we truly prevent walking, therefore, you investigate the six meanings with separate words, namely substance, quality, action, generality, particularity, and inherence, those characteristics that are different in nature like iron hooks, with them to lift the meaning of the word substance, and to put down, contract, stretch, walk, whatever walking is related to the meaning of the word called action, since it is not established, so the owl party says: However, if you want to be like the later investigation, then it is the meaning of the reason contradictory, therefore, saying that the meaning of the previous reason is not established is unreasonable, the owl party thus welcomes the doubts of the Madhyamaka party. If you Madhyamaka people say so, then, in order to answer this question, we owl party will establish such a measure, in order to prove walking that is different from substance. The object of the wisdom that Deva has walking is the meaning of the word that is different from the nature of Deva, because certainty arises, just like the object of the wisdom that Deva has a stick, they say so. This is also, the object of the wisdom that Deva has walking is, this is the subject to be established, whoever is pervading, good friend, etc., for whoever has the wisdom that Deva has walking, is the object of that wisdom. The meaning of the word that is different from the nature of Deva, this is the dharma to be established, the subject to be established is the object of the wisdom that Deva has walking, to prove that it has the meaning of the word that is different from the nature of Deva, that is, the meaning called walking. It is shown like this: Whoever has the wisdom that Deva has walking, the object of that wisdom is having walking that is different from the nature of Deva, therefore, since from the nature of Deva, the meaning of the word called walking is other, so it is proved that walking is a substance.
