All dharmas are similar to the Sugata. This means that all dharmas are like the Tathagata, whose nature is unborn. Similarly, in the Sutra of the Ornament of the Light of Wisdom Entering the Realm of All Buddhas, it is said: Manjushri, therefore you should also understand in this way, that what is called unborn and unceasing is the supreme word of the Tathagata. Manjushri asked the Blessed One: Blessed One, what is the dharma called unborn and unceasing? The Blessed One said: Manjushri, what is called unborn and unceasing is the supreme word of the Tathagata. This is what is taught: the sound of unborn and unceasing indicates the Dharmakaya itself. Similarly, in the Sutra Requested by Brahma, it is said: Where all craving ceases, that is unborn. What is unborn is enlightenment. The world is attached to birth, so there is neither the arising of a Buddha nor Nirvana. Brahma, with a special mind, asked the Blessed One: Blessed One, what is the characteristic of the unborn? The Blessed One said: Where all craving ceases, that is unborn. This is what is taught: abandoning all defilements is attained by realizing the unborn. What is unborn is enlightenment, which indicates that one should not be afraid of the unborn, because the unborn itself is enlightenment. The world is attached to birth, so there is neither the arising of a Buddha nor Nirvana, which indicates that because the world is attached to birth, it cannot attain perfect enlightenment. For those who have attained perfect enlightenment, there is neither the conceptualization of the arising of a Buddha nor the conceptualization of complete Nirvana. Similarly, in other sutras

Among those, it is also said: 'Whose aggregates are unborn, and who fully knows the unoriginated, those who act in the world, this world is not their abode.' This shows that: those whose aggregates are unborn, and who fully know the unoriginated, those who, although acting in this world, will not be stained by the suffering of samsara, and will benefit sentient beings as long as samsara exists. Like this, all that is said is established, that is to say, the limits of the sutras that show the unborn, and in other limitless limits, the meaning of dependent arising as unborn, these are established, therefore, it is not a conclusion that can be established only by dry logical treatises. Therefore, all the limits of the sutras that show the unborn, are because of the unborn, so this occasion of differentiation is to be explained, this shows the wisdom of the scholars, is the kindness of the teacher. Composed by the teacher Lekdenjé, the extensive commentary on the Wisdom Lamp, an explanation of the Root Verses on the Middle Way, composed by the teacher Chenrezik Brultuk, the chapter on conditions, called Differentiation, that is, the extensive commentary on the first Differentiation is completed. Chapter Twenty-Two. Now, because of the intention to show the distinction of dependent arising as neither coming nor going, the second Differentiation is begun, and, in the first Differentiation, because of the intention to refute the incompatible aspects of showing all things as unborn, the second Differentiation is begun. Regarding the use of the word 'because,' for example, in the treatises of the remnant eaters it says, 'Then for that meaning the Dharma shall be explained,' and in the treatises of the thoughtful it says, 'Then after that it is desired to know the dharmas,' like this it can also be done, but here, the word 'because' is the meaning connected with the meaning that appears later in the treatise, and the meaning of the cause of entering into a commitment, regarding this, in terms of the meaning connected with the meaning that appears later in the treatise.

Now, due to the intention to show the distinction of dependent arising as not coming and not going, it is stated that the second chapter, called "Second Chapter," is being composed. Why does the commentator do this? If someone asks: Now, due to the intention to show the distinction of dependent arising as not coming and not going, it is stated that the second chapter, called "Second Chapter," is being composed, why is that? Because in the Mahayana sutras such as the Prajnaparamita, it is said: "All dharmas are not coming and not going." Although it shows that the basis of distinction, dependent arising, has the distinction of not coming and not going, others cannot understand that dependent arising has the distinction of not coming and not going merely by these scriptures. Therefore, in order to show this with reasoning here, the second chapter is composed. This needs to be understood in connection. Due to the meaning of the cause of entering into the vow, it is stated that the second chapter is being composed because of the intention to eliminate the opposing aspects of showing that all things are unborn in the first chapter. Why is that? If someone asks: Why is the word "due to" said to be the meaning of the cause of entering into the vow? Because the author of the treatise has vowed and promised that after showing that all things are unborn in the first chapter, all the aspects that are contrary to it will be refuted. Moreover, because after refuting birth, coming and going will also be refuted, this is what must be accomplished. Therefore, it should be understood that the second chapter is written because of the intention to abandon all those that belong to the opposing aspects of showing that all things are unborn in the first chapter, such as cessation, permanence, annihilation, coming, going, otherness, different meanings, same meaning, and so on. Therefore, in order to show the proof of the same content that the author of the treatise vowed and promised in the treatise just mentioned above, the commentator says that the opposing aspects of showing that all things are unborn in the first chapter are to be abandoned.
