English

"Ba" is a word of inquiry. "Khyed kyi" means those who speak of birth. "Rkyen so so ba dag la" means for each condition. "'Dus pa dag la" means for the entirety. "'Bras bu" means eyes, etc. "'Bras bu'i bdag nyid kyis" means form, etc., by the very nature of being able to hold objects. "Yod dam 'on te med" is asking whether it existed before or not. "Des cir 'gyur" is the word of the opponent asking the Madhyamika. If the fruit, eyes, etc., exist in the individual and collective conditions such as fire, etc., what will happen? If it does not exist, what will happen? This is the question. Therefore, the commentator says: If it exists, the answer to that side is: "Yod na rkyen gyis ci zhig bya." If it exists, what does the condition do? It has already been answered. If it does not exist, the answer to that is: "Med na gang gi rkyen zhes bya." If it does not exist, what is the condition for? It has already been explained. It is said that "exists" and "does not exist" are related to the fruit. Twenty-first chapter. However, it should be said again, this is to introduce the following verse. Among them, the word "'on kyang" is the meaning of acceptance, which means even if the birth of the fruit has been admitted. "Yang bshad par bya ste" means to refute the arising from conditions. When, from the individual and collective conditions, "'Bras bu de ni med pa nyid." That fruit is non-existent. At that time, "Rkyen rnams la ni gang med pa." What is non-existent for the conditions. "De ni rkyen las ji ltar skye." How does that arise from the conditions? This is saying that when in the individual and collective conditions, if those fruits, eyes, etc., are observed, they are non-existent, then at that time, how do the fruits, eyes, etc., arise from the conditions such as fire, etc.? It will not arise. Therefore, in the ultimate sense, the arising of the fruit is non-existent, "Rkyen rnams la med do" is the meaning of this sentence. In the ultimate sense, the arising of the fruit, eyes, etc., and sprouts, etc., is non-existent, for the conditions such as fire, etc., and seeds, etc., the fruit, eyes, etc., and sprouts, etc., are non-existent, this is the meaning of this sentence.

Its meaning is the word "that is." In order to clarify that meaning, in order to show the knower, it is said, "How does curd arise from the causal conditions? Because there is no curd in those." Someone says, "Curd arises from the causal conditions," and another says, "How does curd arise from the causal conditions? It does not arise." Why? Because there is no curd in those causal conditions. Because there is no curd in the causal conditions, therefore curd does not arise from those causal conditions." Just like that, here too, fruit does not arise from the conditions. Why? Because there is no fruit in those conditions. It should be connected in this way. If it is said that although there are no sprouts etc. in the fruits etc., birth is a branch of convention, is the common object of those with childish minds, and having seen it, they actually think that the inner sources of birth such as the eyes will also arise, then this is saying that if other speakers of birth say this: Although in the causal seeds etc., fruits, sprouts etc. did not exist before, birth belongs to the conventional truth, and even the mind of a cowherd's wife can grasp the appearance, therefore they actually think that fruits, sprouts etc. arise from causal seeds etc. and clay etc., and that the inner sources of birth such as the eyes will arise, this is the former's tenet. Among them, the word "if" means that if other speakers of birth have such a thought, it is a word that welcomes doubt. "From seeds etc." means that the cause is mud, causal conditions, resin, and clay etc., among which the first mentioned is seed, that is seed etc., that is, from those seeds etc. "Sprouts etc." means that the fruit is a pot, felt, wicker basket, and eyes etc., among which the first mentioned is sprout, that is sprout etc., that is, those sprouts etc. "Although there is not" means that in the causal seeds etc., those fruits, sprouts etc. did not exist before. "Birth" is the basis of distinction, that is, fruits, sprouts etc. arise. Conventional
