Because sprouts arise from the aggregation of causes and conditions such as seeds, water, fire, and wind, it is not solely dependent on the seed, and it does not arise solely from the condition of the cause. This is to prevent the condition of the cause alone. The explanation says that it is true that it is unreasonable to prevent arising, because the commentator previously said that arising itself is not unique, which acknowledges the prevention of the condition of the cause. Because the arising from all conditions is prevented in the ultimate truth, sprouts will not arise even from the seed alone, so arising itself is not unique, which implicitly acknowledges that the condition of the cause is unreasonable. It is shown in this way, as it is said: "Not from itself, nor from another, Not from both, nor without cause. Whatever things, wherever, Arising is never present." As it is said, because the arising from all conditions is prevented in the ultimate truth, there is no cause, so it is true that there is no arising, which is the concluding remark. However, after acknowledging the establishment of the cause in conventional truth, it will be explained how the nature of the cause in ultimate truth is unreasonable, that is, it is acknowledged that it is unreasonable to prevent arising in ultimate truth. However, others say: "These Madhyamikas only have the appearance of preventing arising, and there is nothing at all in essence." It is not permissible to say this, therefore, after acknowledging the establishment of the cause in conventional truth, it will be explained how the causality of the cause in ultimate truth is unreasonable. If there is no establishment of the condition of the cause even in conventional terms, then there is nothing to be negated in ultimate truth. Therefore, after acknowledging the establishment of the condition of the cause in conventional truth, it will be explained how the condition of the cause itself is unreasonable on the object of ultimate truth. Among them, "conventional" means conventional truth. "Cause" means the condition of the cause. "Establishment" means certainty. "After acknowledging" means after acknowledging it as a cause. "Ultimate" means of the object of ultimate truth. "Causality of the cause" means the causality of the condition that is designated as the cause.

Do. How it is unreasonable should be explained as follows: how the cause in the ultimate sense is unreasonable, thereby establishing that things do not arise from it. Here, "the cause is this," etc., refers to the establishment of the cause in conventional truth, that is, the establishment of the seed's nature as the cause and condition, which should be understood in this way. If it is thought that it exists, does not exist, or both exists and does not exist, and produces, then "exists" refers to the sprout existing, "does not exist" refers to the sprout not existing, and "both exists and does not exist" refers to the sprout having the nature of both existence and non-existence. "Produces" means to generate. "If it is thought" means to acknowledge in the conventional. That and so on indicate how the causality of the cause in the ultimate sense is unreasonable. When the dharma exists, and neither non-existence nor existence and non-existence are produced, then in the ultimate sense, how can it be called a cause that produces? That which is not produced is only a tenet, that is, if in the ultimate sense, the fruit, that is, the dharma of the nature of the sprout, neither exists, nor does not exist, nor both exists and does not exist, then the cause and condition is not that which produces the fruit, therefore it is not a cause, this is a refutation. Because of existence and non-existence, like self and other, it will become a fault of inference, and it will become a fault of both cases. This is the dharma to be established. It is taught thus: the condition does not produce the existing dharma of the fruit, because it exists, for example, like the self, just as the cause does not produce the cause itself, it will become a fault of inference. Nor does it produce the non-existent dharma of the fruit, because it does not exist, for example, like the other, just as the cause, that is, the cause of the seed, does not produce other things such as a pot, it will become a fault of inference. Nor does it produce the dharma of both existence and non-existence of the fruit, because it will become a fault of both cases, like self and other, just as the cause does not produce both self and other, it will become a fault of inference.
