Because this would become the fault of pointing out that there is no race as a cause. If it is said that something coarse itself exists and is made by causes, then, therefore, the teacher said: "If it exists, what does the cause do?" Therefore, for things that are already clearly existent, even in name, it is not considered that there are causes, because it does not depend on the action of producing. For example, just like that person himself or other things like vases, this would become a fault of pointing out. That "then" means that there is nothing to refute for the debater. The Sutra masters say: "For things that do not exist or exist, causes are not suitable." The phrase "if true" indicates this. The Sutra masters say: For the side of no result and the side of result, because there are no causes such as grains, there is no connection with causes, therefore, it is not a producer. Therefore, the phrase "For things that do not exist or exist, causes are not suitable" negates that the two sides are true. Our view is that the nature of existence and non-existence itself is not something that can be expressed, so it is not like the view of the Vaisheshikas who say that there is no result, nor is it like the view of the Samkhyas and Vaisheshikas who say that there is a result, therefore, for our view, there is no fault of the argument that you have said, they say. However, when the fruit arises, when tending to manifest, the causes depend on helping each other, thereby obtaining the nature of being able to produce the fruit, therefore, in reality, it is admitted that it is the cause itself, so at that time, because the fruit is being produced, it is not non-existent, because it has not been produced, it is not existent. This sentence indicates that, from the Sutra master's own treatises, the fruit is neither existent nor non-existent, therefore there is an error, so the causes are only producing the fruit, they say. Among them, "However, when the fruit arises, when tending to manifest" means: the fruit, such as eye consciousness, etc., and sprouts, etc., those things that have not yet arisen but want to arise, when tending to arise.
