It should be combined in this way. Ultimately, seeds, etc., do not have the nature of being causes, because they have no result. For example, just as space has no sky flower. Here, 'seeds, etc.' is the subject, 'having no nature of cause' is the dharma to be established, 'because they have no result' is the reason, and 'for example, just as space has no sky flower' is the example. For example, ultimately, because there is no result of a sky flower, space has no nature of cause, similarly, ultimately, because there is no result of a sprout, seeds, etc., also have no nature of cause, this is temporarily negating the cause. Just as the cause is negated, so is the result. Similarly, ultimately, seeds, etc., are also not the cause of sprouts, because they do not exist. For example, like a sky flower. Here, 'seeds, etc.' is the subject, 'not being the cause of sprouts' is the dharma to be established, 'because they do not exist' is the reason, and 'for example, like a sky flower' is the example. For example, ultimately, because there is no result of a sky flower, space is also not the cause of a sky flower, similarly, ultimately, because there is no result of a sprout, seeds, etc., are also not the cause of a sprout, this is negating the result. Chapter Nineteen. Or, for those who say they do not want non-arising, but want arising, because of what did not exist before, therefore it is said: 'If there is nothing, what is the cause?'. It means that the root of the verse 'If there is nothing, what is the cause?' is, or those who assert arising say that they do not want the arising of something completely non-existent like a sky flower, but want the arising of something that did not exist before like a sprout, therefore your example of a sprout not arising, the sky flower, etc., do not correspond to the dharma of the example.

Therefore, these words are to be interpreted as being spoken to those who say that doing so would incur faults. Having pointed this out, it is not feasible to say that because non-existence is universal, sprouts, like flowers in the sky, do not arise either. For flowers in the sky are things that do not arise, so they are simply non-existent at all times. But sprouts are things that arise, so they are merely non-existent in the previous state, and having arisen, they come to exist again. Therefore, he said, "If there is nothing, what is the cause?" Thus, your proof that everything you do is universal is not reasonable to say that sound is impermanent like a pot. Why? Because a pot has distinctions such as being unfired and having form, so it is impermanent. Sound is not like that, so only the pot becomes impermanent, and sound does not change, which refutes the opponent. Here, because of the commonality of discrimination, why is the universal non-existence shown as a reason here, that is not a refutation. Even so, those who only think that something is non-existent will prove here that it is unborn. Therefore, the commentator says: "If there is nothing, what is the cause?" This root verse clarifies the refutation, and shows that it is not only a refutation, but also appears to be a refutation. By the characteristic of non-existence before arising, even if pots, cloths, and sābamā, etc., are not non-existent, what cause is desired for the non-existence of seeds, etc., and it will not become any cause, which is the meaning of the words. Non-existence before arising means non-existence before arising and before arising. The characteristic of non-existence before arising means which non-existence, that is, non-existence before arising, that is the characteristic of non-existence before arising. Because of the characteristic of non-existence before arising, even though pots and sābamā, etc., are non-existent because they have not yet arisen, what is the cause of the non-existence of pots, cloths, and sābamā, etc., seeds, etc.?

Wanting faintness, etc., what reason leads to the absence, and seeds, etc., will not change? This is the meaning of this sentence. It is shown in this way: Your sky flower is something without birth, therefore it is completely non-existent, so it is not considered a reason for example. Vases and woolen cloth and coarse cloth, etc., are things with birth, therefore they are previously non-existent, if it is considered a reason for example, even so, the nature of previously non-existent vases and woolen cloth and coarse cloth, etc., is absent, the nature of previously non-existent vases and woolen cloth and coarse cloth, etc., is absent, what reason leads to wanting clay and thread and paint, etc.? Vases and woolen cloth and coarse cloth, etc., are absent, what reason leads to clay and thread and paint, etc., not changing, just like that. Eyes, etc., and sprouts are also the nature of previously non-existent, if eyes, etc., and sprouts are absent in the nature of previously non-existent, what reason leads to wanting faintness, etc., and seeds, etc.? Eyes, etc., and sprouts are absent, what reason leads to faintness, etc., and seeds, etc., not changing? If so, how can eyes, etc., and sprouts be absent in the nature of previously non-existent, what reason leads to faintness, etc., and seeds, etc., not changing, just like that, sky flowers, etc., are completely absent in nature, what reason leads to the sky, etc., not changing, therefore your reason's meaning is not established, it is shown in this way. Therefore, it can only be understood, named therefore these reasons and examples refute birth, it can only be understood, this is the concluding remark. In the true meaning, seeds, etc., are not the cause of sprouts, because they do not exist before birth, like vases, etc. Here also, seeds, etc., are, this is the subject of the proposition, not the cause of sprouts, this is the dharma to be established, because it does not exist before birth, this is the dharma that can be established, like vases, etc., this is the example, combine it like this. For example, true
