is the subject, and 'it produces its own result' is the property to be proven. 'Because it possesses conditions' is the proving property. For example, the act of cooking rice, like possessing the conditions of a pot, water, rice, fire, and firewood, this is applied as an example. For example, the act of cooking rice, because it possesses the conditions of a pot, water, rice, fire, and firewood, just as it produces its own result, rice, similarly, the act of generating consciousness also, because it possesses the conditions of eye, form, light, space, and attention, truly produces its own result, consciousness. Therefore, the previously stated inferences will be harmed by the later reasoning, this is the conclusion. As the valid cognition stated earlier, the inference previously stated by the Madhyamikas is like this: In reality, the internal sources of generation (referring to the six senses) do not arise from other conditions, because they are other, like a pot. Or, in reality, the internal sources of generation such as the eye, which one wants to assert as other, are definitely not the accomplishing conditions, because they are other, like brothers, etc. Whatever these are, they will be harmed by our later reasoning. In response to saying this, the teacher himself explains here: 'Action is not possessed of conditions.' and so on. Because the later reasoning of the example stated earlier will cause harm, we do not truly acknowledge the act of cooking rice. Therefore, the opponent's assertion will incur the fault of an incomplete example, this is refuting the example. Because the logicians say that the later reasoning of the example stated earlier will harm the Madhyamika's previously stated inference, the act of cooking rice that you speak of, we Madhyamikas do not truly acknowledge, therefore the opponent's assertion will incur the fault of an incomplete example.

It is said. Furthermore, action is not endowed with conditions. That is to say, from the ultimate point of view, the action of generating consciousness is not endowed with conditions, because the arising of fruit, whether existent or nonexistent, will be subsequently refuted. That is to say, the action of generating consciousness is refuting entities. Moreover, the word "furthermore" means to examine in another way. Action is not endowed with conditions. This single root verse previously refuted the example of the action called "cooking." Now, action is not endowed with conditions. This single root verse refutes the entity called the action of generating consciousness. Therefore, it is said that from the ultimate point of view, the action of generating consciousness is not endowed with conditions. How so? Therefore, it is said that because the arising of fruit, whether existent or nonexistent, will be subsequently refuted. This shows that, in this way, if action is truly existent, then the fruit called consciousness should be established by arising. If the fruit of consciousness, whether existent or nonexistent, is produced by action endowed with conditions, then, for the meaning of nonexistent or existent, conditions are not permissible. If it is nonexistent, then what is the condition for? If it is existent, then what does the condition do? Because it will be subsequently refuted. If the fruit of consciousness is existent, then action does not need to produce it again. If the fruit of consciousness is nonexistent, like a flower in the sky, then because there is no basis, action itself is also nonexistent, so action is not the condition for the arising of consciousness. If it is said in this way from the ultimate point of view, then because action has not arisen, the meaning of the thesis itself is not established. This shows that, if from the ultimate point of view, the action of generating consciousness, because it is endowed with the conditions of eye, form, light, space, and attention, is able to produce its own fruit, if it is said in this way, then in that case, because action has not arisen, the meaning of your thesis itself is not established. In this way, from the ultimate point of view, because consciousness itself has not arisen, there is no basis for action, so action has also not arisen, for example, the self.
