Those are called the immediately preceding condition of the side that desires to be born in the future. "Except for the last one" means that the last moment of the Arhat's mind and mental events is excluded, because the aggregate in which the Arhat's mind dwells and passes into nirvana is not the immediately preceding condition, because it will not arise again. This immediately preceding condition is also the homogenous immediately preceding condition, and it is also a condition, so it is called the homogenous immediately preceding condition. Therefore, form is not the homogenous immediately preceding condition, because it produces different things. If it is thought in this way, then after the form used in the desire realm, sometimes the revealing form used in the desire realm will arise, and sometimes the non-revealing form used in the desire realm will arise, and sometimes the contaminated form used in the desire realm will arise, because the manifestation of form is not a guide, and the homogenous immediately preceding condition is not a guide. "The dominant condition is the cause of action" means that the dominant condition is the cause of action among the six causes. The so-called cause of action is explained in the Abhidharma treatises: "Other than oneself is the cause of action." That is to say, all dharmas except for the nature of the cause of action are the cause of action for the arising of conditioned dharmas, because they abide in the nature of not hindering arising. "Wanting to arise only from those four that have become other" means showing the tenets established by one's own school. If one thinks that one's own school and the author of the sutras contradict the scriptures, then the Teacher said in the sutras and Abhidharma treatises: "In the tenets of oneself and others, in the heavens and on the earth, there are four conditions, namely the causal condition, the objective condition, the immediately preceding condition, and the dominant condition." Because the fifth condition, which is fully examined by other schools, does not exist, one vows to want to arise the fruit only from those four conditions that are different from the fruit. Therefore, the treatise writers think that things are from other things.

If someone says that whoever vows to say "no birth" will violate their commitment. This is because when one's own sect thinks that the vow is contrary to the scriptures, the one who made the vow will say: "Not from myself, not from others, not from both, not from no cause. Anything, anywhere, has never been produced." From this general vow, if it is permissible to vow "not from self, two, or no cause," then whoever vows "not from others" will violate the commitment to become a Buddha, so it is not allowed. This is a refutation of the former view. The "that" here refers to those who think that the four conditions are completely other things that can produce. The author of the treatise refers to the holy Nagarjuna. Things are not born from others, that is, "not from others." The Treatise on the Middle Way says: "Anything, anywhere, has never been produced." Whoever vows refers to someone who has made a vow or has a vow. This is unreasonable, why? Because it would violate the commitment. What's going on? Because the teacher is also a Buddha, and in the collections of all sects, the Blessed One has said that things are produced from the four changed conditions, but you want to deny it, which is like the Vaibhashikas arguing that sound is permanent, or the Vaisheshikas arguing that sound is impermanent. Seventeenth section. In order to answer what was said above, here is an explanation. Therefore, it is said: "The nature of things does not exist in conditions, etc." Here, previously, one's own sect had said: "There are four kinds of conditions, namely cause, object, immediate, and dominant, and there is no fifth condition." This is a response to the previous view. The "of things" refers to the eyes, etc., that is, eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, mind, etc.

Oh! "Self-nature" refers to one's own essence. "Conditions, etc." refers to, semen and blood, etc. The reason for saying "semen and blood, etc." is that the causes come first, so semen and blood, etc. are mentioned. The use of the word "etc." means that collections and powers, etc., are also included. "Etc." refers to the collection of causes and conditions. "Power" refers to what is examined by those who consider power to be the cause. The word "etc." includes directions, time, space, etc. "Non-existent" means negation, which negates the view that things arise from causes, etc. "Since that is absent, whose otherness do those conditions become?" indicates that if the self-nature of things like the eye existed before the conditions, then the conditions would become "other" relative to it. The self-nature of things like the eye, such as brightness, does not exist before the conditions, so since it does not exist, whose "otherness" do those conditions become, so they do not change. For the moment, let alone arising, first prove that the conditions themselves are "other." "Even if that exists, it does not arise from that" indicates that even if the conditions are "other," things like the eye do not arise from them. Why, even if it exists, does it not arise from it? Because the harm of subsequent inference has already been stated. Although you have promised that things like the eye arise from other conditions such as causes, I have already stated the subsequent inference that harms that promise. Here, too, the same answer will appear: things like the eye do not arise from other conditions such as causes, because it is other. For example, like half-brothers, etc. Therefore, it will not harm it. This is saying that one's own sect once cited the Buddha's teaching of the four conditions as an example.
