It also becomes subject to destruction. Furthermore, concerning the complete examination of whether the bodies of Brahma, Vishnu, and Great Ishvara are considered the ultimate state of peace, are they born or unborn? If they are born, they will inevitably be impermanent, as they possess the nature of being born, like a pot. If they are unborn, they are merely nonexistent, as they are unborn, like a flower in the sky. This digression is sufficient. Therefore, as such, things do not arise from causelessness. Thus, by refuting origination from the nature of things and the nature of non-things, it follows that things do not arise from causelessness. Chapter Sixteen. Some among the Samkhyas say: Not from myself, not from another, Not from both, not from no cause, Whatever things, wherever, There never has been anything born. What is said, such as this, is true that it is unborn, but it also clarifies, they say. The condensed meaning of this is that those who clearly speak among the Samkhyas, through a line of reasoning, commit the fault of proving what is already established by superimposing faults. They say to the Madhyamikas, "Whatever is nonexistent for you is unborn in those ways, but it clarifies what exists." Since that is also established in our treatises, you are proving what is already established, and thus you are superimposing faults through a line of reasoning. Among them, "some among the Samkhyas say" means that among the Samkhyas, there are many who assert established tenets, and among them, those who speak clearly say this. It should be connected to "they say thus." "What is said" refers to what the Madhyamikas said earlier. "It is true that it is unborn" means that whatever was previously nonexistent is unborn in the ways of self, other, both, and no cause. Since it is also stated in our tenets, it is true, and thus it is said through a line of reasoning. "But it also clarifies" means that what was previously existent is clarified by conditions. Therefore, Madhyamika, whatever is nonexistent for you is unborn in those ways, but it only clarifies what exists.

Since they say so, it is because this is also established in our treatises, so they accuse us of faults by saying, "You are establishing on top of what is already established." In order to answer what they said, when explaining here, one should ask them like this, etc., one should ask those who clearly proclaim Samkhya like this. Among them, "What things make something manifest?" is synonymous with "What things make something manifest?" "How does it make it manifest?" is synonymous with "In what way does it make it manifest?" If they say, for example, like a lamp illuminates a vase, etc. If they say so, if they say, for example, just as a lamp illuminates a vase, etc. in the darkness, the causes also make the actions of the great, etc., manifest the things that have always existed from the beginning. If they say so, one should ask them like this: How does an unproduced vase, etc., make it manifest with an unproduced lamp? Thus showing: What do you use as an example of manifestation to establish manifestation with the object to be manifested and the manifester, the example taken from the vase, etc., and the lamp, is unproduced in the ultimate sense in my view, so how does an unproduced vase, etc., make it manifest with an unproduced lamp? It will not manifest. Therefore, an unproduced horse's horn can never be manifested. For example, just as an unproduced horse's horn can never be manifested, similarly, an unproduced vase, etc., can never be manifested, so for the time being, there is no manifestation in the ultimate sense. In order to establish the rules of conventional truth, if one admits that they exist, one should also say this, which means that even if one admits the existence of the vase, etc., and the lamp in order to establish the rules of conventional truth, in the conventional sense, the lamp is not making the previously existing vase, etc., manifest, so the example of the object to be manifested and the manifester establishing manifestation is not established, thereby showing that there is no manifestation. Among them, the phrase "in order to establish the rules of conventional truth" means
