Or might they also possess happiness, suffering, and delusion? However, since the three aggregates of the nature of form, perception, and consciousness are aggregates, it is not certain that they possess any one of happiness, suffering, or delusion, just like the aggregate of feeling or the aggregate of formation. Those phenomena that are different from happiness and suffering and that do not actually exist as knowledge can be determined not to be the nature of happiness and suffering, because they are measurable. For example, just like knowledge, therefore, it is also unreasonable through inference. This is from the treatise of the Samkhya school. The phenomena of the nature of form, feeling, perception, and formation are considered to universally possess the three qualities of happiness, suffering, and delusion. Therefore, those phenomena of the Samkhya school are proven to possess those qualities. Here, the phenomena of form, feeling, perception, and formation, which are not consciousness, are grouped together, and it is proven that these phenomena are not the nature of happiness and suffering. Here, "those phenomena that are different from happiness and suffering and that do not actually exist as knowledge" is the subject of the thesis. "It can be determined not to be the nature of happiness and suffering" is the property to be proven. "Because they are measurable" is the reason for proof. "For example, just like knowledge" is the example. Therefore, "therefore, it is also unreasonable through inference" is the conclusion. Among them, "different from happiness and suffering" refers to being different from the aggregate of feeling, and should be connected to "knowledge actually exists." "Phenomena that do not actually exist as knowledge" refers to phenomena that are not the aggregate of consciousness, namely form, feeling, perception, and formation. "It can be determined not to be the nature of happiness and suffering" refers to phenomena that are not the aggregate of consciousness, those phenomena of form, feeling, perception, and formation can be determined not to be the nature of happiness and suffering.

is established. The reason for saying "because it is measurable" is that form, feeling, perception, and mental formations are measurable. Therefore, it can be determined that they are not the nature of happiness and suffering. Whatever dharma is measurable, it can be determined that it is not the nature of happiness and suffering. For example, like knowledge, this is an example recognized by both sides. Knowledge, in Samkhya philosophy, is called "Purusha," and in our Buddhist theory, it is called "consciousness." Therefore, just as in Samkhya philosophy, the Purusha called "knowledge" is both measurable and not considered to have attributes such as happiness and suffering, the dharmas of form, feeling, perception, and mental formations are also like knowledge, because they are measurable, so it can be determined that they are not the nature of happiness and suffering. Therefore, it is also unreasonable to use inference. The reason for saying this is that, as mentioned earlier, the reason why the Samkhyas say that the cause of internal differences is determined to be the nature of happiness, suffering, and ignorance, this statement is also unreasonable for the inference of the Madhyamikas, which is a concluding statement. If the famous Samkhyas say this: The Madhyamikas use "for example, like knowledge" as an example, but knowledge is Purusha, and this is not established for you, so the Madhyamikas' example is not established. In order to answer this challenge raised by the other party, the commentator here says: Here, the commentator himself says that because the example is taken only from universally established knowledge, it is not without an example. Knowledge is a difference of consciousness, and it is also called Purusha for you, and it is also called consciousness for us, so knowledge is universally established. Therefore, since the example is taken only from universally established knowledge, my example is not unestablished. Now, in order to refute the theory of those who believe that nature (Prakṛti) is the cause, they say that the great and so on arise from nature (Prakṛti).
