As it is said, if the Vedas have a cause, they will not become permanent because of having a cause. If there is no cause, they will not become permanent because the essence itself is completely non-existent. Therefore, it is unreasonable to say that the person is the author of the words of the Vedas. Now, we must refute the views of those who believe that causeless things become the cause of nature. For this, first, in order to explain the tenets of those who believe that nature is the cause, those who believe that nature is the cause admit that the manifestations of Brahma and others, culminating in sprouts, are the cause of arising, and they say: The cause of internal differences must be happiness, suffering, and ignorance, because they possess these. Just as in the world, whatever is combined with anything is known to be the cause of it, such as the fragrance of sandalwood, containers, vessels, and ornaments. Similarly, internal differences also possess happiness, suffering, and ignorance, therefore, as has been said, according to reasoning, the cause of internal differences is happiness, suffering, and ignorance. The aggregates of form, feeling, perception, formation, and consciousness should also be regarded as the nature of happiness, suffering, and ignorance, because they are not aggregates, just like the aggregate of feeling, therefore the meaning of the reasoning is not unestablished either, they say.

These are called the ultimate lights. The so-called arising of lights is the arising of lights. Considering nature as the cause of arising means that those who consider nature as the cause, the cause of the arising of lights from Brahma to the ultimate sprout is nature, which is called Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas, the three Gunas (Sanskrit Devanagari: गुण, Sanskrit Romanization: guṇa, Chinese literal meaning: गुण) in equal proportion, which is called the Pradhana. Having acknowledged that, these words are connected. The condensed meaning of this is: From the beginning of Brahma, all the lights that have grass and mats in between, the cause of the lights is nature, which is called Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas, the three Gunas (Sanskrit Devanagari: गुण, Sanskrit Romanization: guṇa, Chinese literal meaning: गुण) in equal proportion, which is called the Pradhana. They think so. Here, in the treatises of the Samkhyas, three Gunas (Sanskrit Devanagari: गुण, Sanskrit Romanization: guṇa, Chinese literal meaning: गुण) are considered: Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas. Among them, Sattva is the nature of lightness and clarity. Rajas is the nature of movement and action. Tamas is the characteristic of heaviness and stability. As it is said: Joy and satisfaction and delight, The nature of happiness and peace. Sometimes they also appear, These are the Gunas (Sanskrit Devanagari: गुण, Sanskrit Romanization: guṇa, Chinese literal meaning: गुण) of Sattva. Displeasure and complete torment, Sorrow, desire, and intolerance. The reason for appearing where, These are considered as the characteristics of Rajas. Ignorance and the same delusion, Recklessness, sleep, and distraction. Sometimes they also appear, These are the Gunas (Sanskrit Devanagari: गुण, Sanskrit Romanization: guṇa, Chinese literal meaning: गुण) of Tamas. As it is said, Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas are equal, the same, and unified, and it is not particularly noticeable that any one is dominant, that is called the Pradhana. That Pradhana is not directly seen by the Brahmin sage, because their treatises say that the Brahmin sage can see the arising of Brahma, but cannot see that Pradhana. From that featureless, indistinct Pradhana, the Mahat-tattva (Sanskrit Devanagari: तत्व, Sanskrit Romanization: tatva, Chinese literal meaning: तत्व) arises, just a little and a little change. From the Mahat-tattva (Sanskrit Devanagari: तत्व, Sanskrit Romanization: tatva, Chinese literal meaning: तत्व), arises the very clear Ahamkara. That Ahamkara is also of three kinds: arising from transformation, arising from Rajas, and arising from elements. Among them, the Ahamkara arising from transformation

From ego, the part with stronger mental power gives rise to eleven senses. Namely: eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, mind, speech, foot, hand, buttocks, and genitals. Among them, the five, such as the eye, are the senses of wisdom. The five, such as speech, are the senses of action. The sense of mind is the nature of both, as it resides in the senses of wisdom and also resides in the senses of action. From the ego transformed from the elements, the part with stronger darkness gives rise to the five tanmātras. Namely: sound tanmātra, touch tanmātra, taste tanmātra, form tanmātra, and smell tanmātra. The ego transformed from atoms, the part with stronger movement, is the nature of both. For example, a certain Brahmin has two wives, one a Brahmin woman and one a low-caste woman. The Brahmin woman gave birth to eleven sons, and the low-caste woman gave birth to five sons. Among them, the Brahmin woman is like the ego transformed from change, and the eleven sons are like the eleven senses. The low-caste woman is like the ego transformed from the elements, and the five sons are like the five tanmātras. The Brahmin is like the ego transformed from atoms. Therefore, the great, ego, and tanmātras are both nature and transformation. The root nature is only nature, not transformation. Why? Because the great arises from the principal (pradhāna), therefore the principal is nature. And because the principal does not arise from anything, therefore the principal is also unchanging. Because ego arises from the great, therefore the great is nature. And because the great arises from the principal, therefore the great is also transformation. Because the senses and tanmātras arise from ego, therefore ego is nature. And because ego arises from the great, therefore ego is also transformation. Because space arises from sound tanmātra, therefore sound tanmātra is nature. And because sound tanmātra arises from ego, therefore sound tanmātra is also transformation. Because from touch tanmātra
