Even if translated into other languages of barbarians, it is acceptable. The term "how to understand" means how to comprehend. The term "only through signs" means only through signs that possess characteristics such as being blue smoke, thick, diffused, and rising upwards. The term "possessing signs" refers to what is to be inferred, that is, what has signs. In this case, it refers to what is to be inferred, the nature of fire that has the sign of smoke. The term "for the sake of showing its meaning" means that just as one understands that there is fire from smoke, one keeps only the sign of smoke in mind and then translates it into another language. It is for the sake of showing the meaning of fire with other words for smoke. Even if it is translated into another language, it will become a sign, a reason, and a cause. For example, saying to a barbarian, "In this direction there is smoke, therefore there is fire," means that, for example, a person from Ü-Tsang, just as he himself understands that there is fire from the sign of smoke, keeps only that sign in mind and then says to the barbarian in the barbarian's language, "In this direction there is diffused smoke, therefore there is fire." That person's translation is only different. Because saying that smoke is the sign that shows there is fire, it is the same as saying that there is a cause. The term "for that" refers to the words of the person who says to the barbarian, "In this direction there is smoke, therefore there is fire." The term "understanding the sign" means understanding that smoke is the sign of fire. The term "arising" means the arising of the understanding of the sign, that is, becoming the understanding of the sign. The term "method" means the method of the arising of the understanding of the sign, that is, the nature of language. The term "in a different way" means that, for that, the method of the arising of the understanding of smoke as the sign of fire is only expressing it in another barbarian language that is different from the Ü-Tsang language. Although expressing the sign in another language is the same as what a person who says there is a cause says, for the Madhyamaka school, applying reason itself is saying that there is a cause. The term "that is not an acceptable answer" means that therefore, you say that because you cannot show that saying there is a cause has no reason, saying to a barbarian in the barbarian's language

Therefore, even if reasoning is applied, there is no harm to the former view, and this statement is unacceptable. Alternatively, it is untenable, just as the stated argument is untenable, which is its conclusion. In this way, since there is no inference to prove that it arises from its own nature, this statement remains as it is. Therefore, all things do not arise from their own nature. The Lokayata say that shimmering things and sprouts, etc., arise from no cause, while pots, etc., arise from causes, and therefore do not arise from their own nature. The statement that all things do not arise from their own nature is called arguing for what is already established. This is the view of the Lokayata. Some Lokayata texts say that some things, such as shimmering things and sprouts, arise from their own nature without cause, while some things, such as pots and woolen cloth, are considered to arise from the combination of causes and conditions. Therefore, they say that all things do not arise from their own nature, and the Madhyamikas argue that all things do not arise from their own nature, which is arguing for what is already established. The Lokayata refers to a great sage who is said to have appeared, named Lokayata, who was a disciple of the eye of the world. He made a new exposition of the Lokayata view, and all those who joined the Lokayata are called Lokayata, because they are the embodiment and branch of the Lokayata, so they are called Lokayata. They say, "It is said like this." Shimmering things and sprouts, etc., arise from no cause, shimmering things, tender things, long things, hard things, things with bent hands and feet, sprouts, leaves, small tubes, trunks, tadpoles, flowers, ears of wheat, bran, crevices, rice, etc., all arise from their own nature without cause.
