The characteristics are these three. The nature is arising. From the beginning, there is little attachment, and for those who have little compassion, they practice excellent pride. Therefore, that refers to noise, and they are not focused on the benefit and activities of sentient beings. Therefore, this is considered to be self-taught without a teacher. The second is that only by relying on others can one attain enlightenment, and the path is also like that. He thinks there are three kinds. Some people become Buddhas after hundreds of kalpas, making good offerings to all Buddhas, striving for self-enlightenment, and bringing them to maturity. Others, by pleasing the Buddha, generate decisive, favorable conditions and complete them. Others, for the appearance of the Buddha, obtain the fruit, but do not manifest Arhats. The cause of all arising is these three. Without a Buddha, they possess the Arhat who is self-taught without a teacher. The first is the self-Buddha who arises, and is considered to be like a rhinoceros horn solitary realizer. The rest are arising, which is the self-attained enlightenment of dependent origination. The first is to live alone, and has the intention of contemplating and maintaining the profound Dharma. The other two live with the Sangha. The body and so on are well guarded, and they enter into begging. In order to subdue the inferior, that is completely peaceful. Although there are differences in knowledge, there is no difference in the path, and the Bhagavan should also be observed in the same way. Or, the Mahayana practitioners say that there are two kinds of obscurations: afflictive obscurations such as attachment, and cognitive obscurations such as form. In this regard, this path can only eliminate afflictive obscurations, but cannot eliminate cognitive obscurations. As it is said: The various worlds are not desired, the discrimination of men is desire. The various worlds remain as they are, but these teachings subdue desire. It is also said: Desire arises from discrimination, knowing the root of desire, do not discriminate, therefore you will not generate desire. Therefore, merely being free from discrimination is being free from afflictions. Afflictive obscurations are the afflictions that have been practiced since beginningless time.

Habits are where the Shravakas and others enter. The Bhagavan is the one who has completely eliminated all the stains of the net of afflictions, along with their habits, from the root, by cultivating the view of emptiness for a long time. Therefore, if it is said that this is showing the difference in the means of eliminating the obscurations of knowledge, that is not correct. Because: The elimination of the obscurations of knowledge, is also by this path. Because it is an obscuration arising from the mind, it is like the obscuration of afflictions. The elimination of the obscurations of knowledge, this is the subject. Also by this path, this is the complete establishment of its dharma. The combination of dharma and subject is the thesis. Obscuration is a synonym for blocking and covering. In order to eliminate the fault of being uncertain because it is the same as the obscuration of external objects, the reason for establishing a special reason is: Because it is an obscuration arising from the mind, like the obscuration of afflictions, this is a metaphor. Because it is the same as obscuration, just as the path can eliminate the obscuration of afflictions, it can also eliminate the obscuration of knowledge, this is what is thought. If the scriptures of the Hearer Vehicle think that omniscience can be attained by this path, but the scriptures of the Great Vehicle do not think so, that is unreasonable. As follows: In the Great Vehicle also by this path, one can attain the all-knowing Sage, because it is another vehicle, it should be like the Pratyekabuddha Vehicle. In all three vehicles, only this path is the cause of attaining the three bodhi, and there is no other path to bodhi that is better than this, this is the remainder of the sentence. Or, what is the use of saying so much? If the Great Vehicle does not contradict the words of the Buddha, then the sect that aims at that view, together with it, is not the path, if it is investigated in this way, then it is not the words of the Buddha, because it contradicts reason. How is it? In the three collections of Sutras, etc., and showing the proximity of other paths, the Great Vehicle is not spoken by the Buddha, like the four views of touching the extreme.
