What are they? They are obtaining a human body, having complete faculties, not having turned away from the extreme of karma, being born into a noble family, the appearance of a Buddha, having faith in the place, the teaching of the sacred Dharma, distinguishing the teachings of the Dharma, and following these distinctions. Or, leisure refers to the human birth being complete with ten qualities. What are these ten qualities? Completely abandoning inferior birth, not being foolish, not being ignorant, not being of weak faculties, obtaining a male body, having a good appearance, not being poor, not being unsubdued, having noble speech, and being worthy of being looked upon by many people. From the Commentary on the Heart Sutra of the Middle Way, Blazing Intellect, the first chapter on not abandoning the mind of enlightenment. The Commentary on the Heart Sutra of the Middle Way, Blazing Intellect, Volume Two. Now, in order to excellently show the perfect reliance on the unsurpassed asceticism of the Sage who has not completely abandoned the mind of enlightenment, the second chapter is established as a measure. Therefore, in order to benefit beings, having firmly taken the vow for great enlightenment, entering completely into the path that accords with reason is extremely beautiful. Thus it is said, and so on. As it is said, in order to benefit the beings of the three realms, having firmly taken the unwavering vow for the unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and fully enlightened great enlightenment, entering completely into the path of the Sugata, which accords with the principles of reason, is extremely beautiful. What is that path? Therefore, it is loving-kindness without harm, compassion accomplishing benefit, never being satisfied with realizing the sacred Dharma, and having no stinginess in giving Dharma. Thus it is said, not abandoning the mind of enlightenment is great love, the nature of wanting to completely protect all realms of sentient beings, its essence is the characteristic of being without harm, great compassion is the nature of suffering oneself because of the suffering of others, having the characteristic of accomplishing benefit, therefore listening to the principles of the Great Vehicle, receiving, holding, understanding all meanings, and diligently speaking, etc.

Because of abandoning, there is no satisfaction in realizing the sacred Dharma. As it is said, day and night desiring the Dharma, rejoicing in the Dharma, being devoted to the Dharma, practicing Dharma in accordance with the Dharma, not completely abandoning inner and outer things, not even a little bit, respecting the Lama and serving closely, not accepting whatever is close, not even a little bit, abandoning pride from pride, practicing with humility, not even not accepting, as it is said and so on. There is no transgression of birth, age, lineage, region, and time, equally distinguishing the Dharma for all sentient beings, and there is no stinginess in giving the Dharma. Being upright and destroying pride, observing that nature with the mind, being blind to observing the faults of others, and being afraid of the arising of one's own faults. Being upright because of being free from deceit, destroying pride because of being free from arrogance and self-righteousness, seeing the meaning of dependent origination as it is, observing that nature with the mind, treating the great faults of others as if they were foolish and blind, therefore being blind to observing the faults of others, and being afraid even of the slightest fault of oneself, therefore being afraid of the arising of one's own faults, such people are adorned by having mindfulness. Quarrels and worldly bustle, turning one's back on worldly sophistry, constantly respecting the arising of the stream of virtues even in those without virtues. Quarrel is to refute the views of others and establish one's own views, speaking evil words based on both sides, as well as worldly struggles, revealing secrets, and arguing for regret. Worldly bustle is associating and constantly talking with worldly people who desire the non-Dharma, the non-meaning, the non-action, and the cycle of existence. Worldly sophistry is being proud of various secret words that are separated from the words of truth. Turning one's back on those is not inclining towards those. Constantly respecting the arising of the stream of virtues even in those without virtues, that is, even for beings who do not completely lack virtues
