Just as that, with the wisdom of both conventional and ultimate truths, and with the six recollections as a preliminary, one becomes accustomed to generosity and so forth. As it is said in the Sutra Requested by Excellent Arm: "If one cannot learn generosity, giving, and complete renunciation, one should learn separately and correctly in this way: gradually and slightly taming, abandoning, and completely abandoning desire, miserliness, and the fear arising from generosity; learning, practicing, manifestly increasing generosity, giving, and complete renunciation; striving, endeavoring, and being diligent. One should learn separately and correctly in this way." Similarly, the other five perfections should also be widely applied, and one should understand from this. Therefore, wanting to truly take up and especially practice these six perfections, or especially practicing for the sake of liberating all sentient beings, in order to show the true taking up, it is said: For the benefit of all sentient beings, from the mountain of generosity and so forth, arises the river of merit, pouring down the stainless water of virtue. This means that, for the benefit of all sentient beings, from the six perfections like mountains, such as generosity and discipline, the six perfections like rivers arise, with the nature of non-attachment, non-hatred, and non-ignorance, merit itself is stainless, and by abandoning sins, one pours down possessing such virtuous water. After that, when the intention to give becomes very strong, then, towards all beggars, at all times, with all inner and outer things, one eliminates all the suffering of poverty and begging, with an equal mind towards all beggars, at all times, respectfully from one's own hands, without harming others and without regret, with inner and outer things, such as clothes, food, jewels, sons, daughters, head, hands, feet, and so forth, in all ways, one eliminates all the suffering and displeasure arising from poverty and begging.

Therefore, by becoming accustomed to giving, great giving, and extreme giving, the paramita is completely demonstrated. When it is completely accomplished, the minds of the petitioners are fulfilled with joy moment by moment, and the inexhaustible fruits are always abundant, accomplishing the benefit of beings like a wish-fulfilling tree. This refers to fulfilling the minds of all beggars with joy in an instant, and oneself, at all times, being enriched by the inexhaustible ripening fruits of the paramitas, accomplishing the benefit of beings like a wish-fulfilling tree. Among them, "petitioners" refers to impoverished beggars. "Mind" refers to synonyms such as mind, hope, and thought. "Fulfilled moment by moment" refers to fulfilling it with joy in an instant. Therefore, it is always fruitful due to the inexhaustible ripening fruits of the paramitas, so it itself is abundant and worthy of praise, and it accomplishes the benefit of those who go like a wish-fulfilling tree. After becoming such a generous state, if one properly upholds the flawless precepts, then one will only be born in the happy realms that benefit others and bring happiness. Or, according to one's wishes, in other evil realms, one is born in a place that benefits others and brings happiness. This refers to being born only in the happy realms with the complete purity of precepts, and not falling into the evil realms. Or, after careful consideration, one chooses to be born in other evil realms, born in a place that can benefit others and bring happiness, not for one's own benefit and happiness. Even if one is born in those places, among those beings, one will be endowed with retinue, acceptance, forbearance, and infinity, and like the great ocean, from all doors, one will be filled and increased by the waters of merit. This refers to that even in the place where those beings go, one will have retinue, mental acceptance, forbearance, and infinity, just as the great ocean is filled and increased by streams of water from all doors, giving, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and
