That is the meditation for generating them. It cannot be produced by those who are with afflictions. The sun cannot be seen by the blind, cannot be seen, and will not be seen. Just as it is not their realm, the Dharmakaya also cannot be seen by the logicians of one's own and other schools through inference with diligent intelligence, because it is not their field of activity. Why don't they see it? Because it is: neither existent, nor non-existent, nor both existent and non-existent. Neither different from that, nor not different. That is to say, it is not existent like form, etc., because it is not the object of the mind of existence. It is also not non-existent like a rabbit's horn, etc., because it is not the object of the mind of non-existence. It is also not both existent and non-existent, because it cannot be definitely grasped by both minds. It is also not different from them, because it does not have the characteristic of being different from existence, etc. It is also not non-different, because in conventional truth, it can be expressed as being the same as existence, etc., from the perspective of names. How is it existent? Because it is the nature of strength, fearlessness, and the unmixed Buddha-dharma. How is it non-existent? Because it does not have inherent existence in the collection of different causes and conditions. How is it both existent and non-existent? Because it is proximately designated in relation to both. If the supreme self that is completely imputed by the non-Buddhists also wants to be of the nature of non-conceptual, permanent, and unchanging, then what is the difference between it and the Dharmakaya? That is because they are shown to be subtle because they possess the qualities of subtlety, and they are shown to be great because they possess the qualities of greatness. They are shown to be one because they possess the qualities of oneness. Because they pervade everything, they are shown to pervade far and near, but the Dharmakaya is: not subtle, not great. Not one, not far, nor near. That is said because it is not the possessor of qualities and does not abide in an object. Similarly, those who speak of the non-conceptual as a person (purusha) say that the person is the agent, the cause of birth,

consider it as self-existent. Those who assert the self believe that the self is the cause that illuminates all sentient beings. In order to show that the Dharmakāya is different in nature from them, it is said: "In it, howsoever slightly, there is no birth and no illumination." This is because the absence of things themselves implies the absence of causality and illumination. Similarly, the liberated self also goes to the end of the world and dwells in liberation called the aggregation of the world. If one sees that the puruṣa has become the end of darkness, one thinks that it lies dormant there. But this is not to be looked at, nor can it be seen, because nothing exists here, nor will anything lie dormant. This is because the path of liberation, when correctly cultivated, is also the same when there is no appearance, because there is no distinction between self and other, so it will not exist or lie dormant anywhere. Those who assert Brahman believe that Brahman is the most sacred of all worlds and the ancestor of beings. In order to show that this is more excellent than that, it is said: "Brahman and others do not discriminate anything, that is the sacred Brahman." This means that Brahman, Viṣṇu, Maheśvara, etc., which cannot be distinguished by those who have the arrogance of seeing them and have the view of discrimination, that is the sacred Brahman. The word Brahman can refer to both the lord of beings and nirvāṇa, but here it refers to nirvāṇa. That is not something they can understand, because it is not something that can be observed by wisdom with discrimination. Those who take non-deceptive words as the standard and say that there is no dharma more excellent than truth, also because it is conditioned and has elaboration, in order to show that it is not the only truth, it is said: "That is the sacred truth, the Muni speaks by speaking the truth." This means that there is no manifestation of fabrication, because it is non-inverted, so it is the only excellent truth, the Muni truly proclaims the truth, so in the Diamond Sutra and other sutras it is said: "Whatever is conditioned is false, whatever is unconditioned
