The meaning of "born in the manner of non-arising" is that any mind that thinks that things are a unity of being and non-being is also inverted, because it arises from the gateway of conceptualization. For example, even if one doubts about a post, "Is this a person or a post?", the mind that thinks "it is a person" is inverted. Similarly, the nature of the object that is apprehended by the mind of being and non-being is also inverted, because it is the object of the consciousness of conceptualization, just like water in a mirage. For a mirage, first the thought of water arises, but if it is not fixated as water, then that thought does not exist. Therefore, since there is no knowable that is both existent and non-existent, the mind without an object is also unborn, and that unbornness of the mind is called birth, because it realizes the non-object. It should be known that non-birth itself is non-conceptualization of its aspect. If other debaters think that emptiness makes the nature of things non-existent, for example, destroying pottery and so on, just as names cause people to perish, and that emptiness is not its own emptiness, therefore it is not separated from the conceptualization of emptiness, then how can there be non-conceptual wisdom? In order to eliminate this thought, it is said: "Because all dharmas are empty, not through the gate of non-emptiness, non-desire, non-conceptualization, wisdom, that as before, because it is forbidden." The meaning is that any mind that thinks "all dharmas are empty" is also inverted in the ultimate truth, because it arises from the gateway of conceptualization, for example, just like the thought of a person arising for a post. Similarly, the nature of the object that is apprehended by the mind of emptiness is inverted, because it is the object of the consciousness of conceptualization, for example, just like thinking that a mirage is water. Just like before, because that is also forbidden, non-conceptual wisdom is not impossible. So, what is it like? It is existent. In order to follow the sutra that says "emptiness, emptiness," it is said: Because emptiness is empty, etc.

Of the earth. Because its essence is emptiness, therefore, wise people do not regard emptiness as emptiness. This is because the essence of things is invisible, so it is emptiness, and this emptiness is also invisible in its essence and without things, so wise people do not regard it as emptiness, and do not regard it as a thing of emptiness, so for emptiness, they do not make further distinctions. Those who cling to anything that does not exist as real are to be condemned. As it is said: Whoever regards emptiness as real, I say he is incurable. If someone thinks that emptiness is suchness, which is the essence of non-appearance and non-things, then the wisdom of the Sugata that arises from this, is it not also unreal? For those who have this kind of thought, it is said: If the self of things has no appearance, the realm of non-thinking wisdom is also not real, because it is not real, like the thought of the moon in the water moon. This means that although there is no arising of conceptual thought for the moon in the water, it is false because it is the same as the object of perception, and similarly, the realm of wisdom without appearance is also false. The source here is as stated in the Sutra: Enlightenment is like a dream and like an illusion. Furthermore, the object of meaning of non-conceptual thought, all consciousnesses without conceptualization are also false, because of the nature of selflessness, etc., like consciousnesses with conceptualization. This means that the wisdom of non-conceptual thought, its object of meaning is non-appearance, and for the wisdom of non-conceptual thought that exists therein, that is also false. Even if the conceptual thoughts of self and happiness, etc., have been abandoned, it is because it still has the nature of conceptual thoughts of selflessness and suffering, etc. Like other wisdoms with conceptualization. If it is said that in order to refute the views of others, and not to insist on one's own views, has it not become a challenge? Therefore, one should regard the famous suchness in one's own school, and the teacher who understands this suchness, as one's own school.
