Action is Ishvara, the agent of eyes and so on, because it is permanent, and because it is one, and because it is unborn, what is similar to it? Because you have no such example, so if you specifically point out that the agent of eyes and so on is Ishvara, because there is no example, it cannot be established. If you say that because it is Ishvara, just like the agent of pots and so on is the potter and so on, then the answer is: that of yours is impermanent, and the nature of being colored and born will become a fault. This is called the remainder of the word Ishvara. If it is said that the actions of the various causes of the world, which are included in sentient beings and vessels, if they are Ishvara, then even in the conventional, it is completely established. This is to say that if it is further proved that those counted as sentient beings, gods and humans, etc., birth, dwelling, and destruction, and those counted as vessels, the abode of those, the actions of the various causes of the world of vessels, virtuous actions and non-virtuous actions, and immovable actions are Ishvara, then it is completely established even in terms of conventional truth. How is it? Just like this, due to ignorance, actions arise, for that, there are three kinds of actions, merit and non-merit and immovable. These three realms are produced from that, therefore I am also ignorance itself, the Ishvara who does actions, actions themselves are the Ishvara who establishes the world, because it is thought so. Therefore, the Ishvara you think of, because it does not exist, will become an unreasonable fault. Therefore, time and purusha, and pradhana, atoms, Vishnu, etc., are not the cause of this world, one should understand these refutations. This is to say that for some who think that time is the cause, even if seeds and so on, and the auxiliary conditions of those, earth, water, fire, wind, etc. exist, but sprouts and so on sometimes appear, therefore this time is the cause of producing all the worlds. Similarly, those who think that purusha is the cause also think that purusha itself is the cause in all the three realms, just like a cow is to a gadfly, mercury is to water, a branch is to a branch.

is the cause of all sentient beings. Thus they manifestly cling to it. Those who speak of the principal as the cause also think that the cause of the arising of all beings, who are of the nature of happiness, suffering, and ignorance, with Brahma and so forth as the ultimate sprout, is the nature called the "principal." Similarly, those who accept atoms as the cause also vow that things like earth, which are made of subtle atoms, are existent as substances, and that the cause of the great elements and so forth, which are manifestly established in stages such as the second atom, is the permanent atoms. Furthermore, some say that that which is called "pervader," which belongs to all things such as mountains and trees, water and earth and fire and wind, is unborn and indestructible, and is the cause of all beings. All of those should also be examined and refuted like the Lord, saying, "Time is not the creator of the world, because it is the cause of happiness for some. For example, time is not the agent of those who rejoice in time." and so forth, and should be understood accordingly. Therefore, since in that way there is no arising in any way in the ultimate sense, the scriptures say that dependent arising is unborn. Similarly, "The turning of the wheel of Dharma is the peace and unborn from the very beginning, and the Dharma of the nature of Nirvana, Protector, you have taught." Similarly, "As children imagine, the world exists only from causes and conditions, but the existent does not arise, and neither the non-existent nor the existent-non-existent exists." Such statements and so forth are established. To those who make the connection of valid cognition through the door of reasoning, such as the Sutra masters, it is said, "If it is to dispel the darkness of views, why do Buddhas appear? Therefore, if one wishes to give birth to such a source, it is not an appropriate answer." Thus, views, manifest clinging, and grasping are synonyms, and are distinctions of the sixty-two views. Views are darkness, therefore they are the darkness of views, because they are an obstacle to seeing that (truth). To dispel the darkness of views is to abandon them. To dispel the darkness of views, which becomes the result, is...
