Because it possesses that characteristic, it is just like not wanting it to arise suddenly even in conventional truth. Furthermore, because it is a result, because it arises sequentially, because it is destroyed, because it completely changes, because the causes and conditions are definite, and also because of arising, it should be known. This is the remainder of the words such as 'like a pot.' Among them, because it is a result, it is a result. Sequential arising means that because causes and conditions come together, it arises at the right time. Destruction means exhaustion. Complete change means changing into something else. Definite causes and conditions means that from the definite appearance of causes and conditions separately, the result definitely arises. Arising means manifest establishment. Those things, because they are results, etc., just like a pot, in the reality of conventional truth, it is also certain that they do not arise suddenly from no cause. Here, if those who speak of non-existence think that by using the fault of applying a simile to the Madhyamikas, they can also refute the previous life, then it will backfire, because you Madhyamikas claim that a pot is manifestly established through the sequence of clay lumps, patting, and spinning, etc., so that itself becomes your simile. We, however, think that the clay lump ceases in the very nature of the clay lump, so it does not arise again, and likewise, patting and spinning, etc., also cease in their respective natures, so they do not arise again, therefore pots, etc., arise only from no cause, so your simile does not hold. Or, if the clay lump is Caitra or Maitra, then it will also not arise again because it has ceased in another lifetime, because it has been destroyed. Or, because it is a result, therefore like a pot, those who speak of non-existence say that the previous life has ceased. To this, here the teacher says: If the clay lump in another life, because it has ceased, does not arise, because it is destroyed, because it is a result, do you think it is like a pot? This is just presenting the previous view. The answer to that is: If the nature of the pot ceases and does not arise, if you think of the clay lump in that way, then you are just proving your own view.

It is like this. Just as we believe that the pot, the self-nature of the pot, is cut off by what, then that self-nature does not arise, however, from that (pot) the stream of self-nature of tiles and many tiles, etc., exists, like this, you also believe that the clay lump, the clay lump itself called the clay lump, or called Cai Zha (transliteration of Tibetan) or Mai Zha (transliteration of Tibetan), if you think that the self-nature is cut off by what, then that self-nature does not arise, however, from that (clay lump) the stream of self-nature of the pot, etc., exists, then it is established and established in the conventional, and it is also unborn in all ways in the ultimate, so it is my own view that is established. If cessation is the cause, then the Hetu-vidya (Sanskrit term for logic) is contradictory. It means that if you think like this, those clay lumps, etc., that are rejected will not become the cause of other things later, like this, what is cut off is the continuous cessation, because cessation is the nature of complete destruction. And, what arises arises only from self-nature, because it does not depend on any cessation, then because of destruction, the meaning of your Hetu-vidya is contradictory, because it is obvious that sprouts, etc., arise from the cessation of seeds. If sprouts also arise without the cessation of seeds, then sitting on ashes, etc., will also produce (sprouts), becoming such a fault. Therefore, because the fruit arises by analogy with destruction itself, those clay lumps, etc., that are cut off also become the cause of other later causes, and it is only shown that it arises from that, so because the self-nature of the Dharmata (Sanskrit term for subject, referring to the subject in the argument) is established to be contradictory, the meaning of Hetu-vidya is contradictory. If the continuum itself is not damaged, then it will become confused. It means that if the continuum itself of seeds, etc., exists in a definite way without being damaged, and the self-nature of sprouts and trunks, branches and twigs, and petals and leaves, etc., arises, if you think so, then your Hetu-vidya will become confused because of destruction, because of what reason, the phase
