And because things with parts are always established in connection with the succession of things, it is obvious, and there is a difference in the result. In this way, things are not produced from either themselves or others. Here, the Lokayatas say: It is true that things are not produced from themselves, others, or both, but the internal sense bases are asserted to arise from their own nature alone, without depending on causes and conditions. Because there is no clarity, various things produced by action appear to be accomplished, for example: the stamens of a lotus, with fresh colors, slightly yellow and red, with a fragrant smell; beautiful lotus pods; soft leaves; rough stems, etc.; the circles of a peacock's tail, various and showing many lights; the body's feathers and wings, blue and shiny, etc.; the thorns' tips, sharp and rough without being sharpened, etc. For these, it should be said: The eye, even in conventional truth, is not desired to arise suddenly. Because it has common and special characteristics. That is like a pot. That is to say, in the world, there is nothing, whether internal or external, that does not show a cause. For the time being, lotuses and so on also have causes such as water, fertilizer, and seeds. Similarly, because it is said that the world is painted by the mind, peacocks and so on are also gathered and manifested by the mind, showing various colors. Thorns and so on are rough, and flowers and so on are soft, also changing from the power of sentient beings' karma. Similarly, the eye is also produced from causes such as semen, blood, and mucus, and the great elements, so in the way of conventional truth, it is not desired to arise suddenly. Because it has common characteristics such as impermanence, and because the eye and so on are of the nature of form transformed from the great elements, it has special characteristics, that is like a pot. The pot also has common characteristics such as impermanence, and special
