It is the action of producing. The so-called "saying thus" means that on our side, a vase refers to the elements of earth, water, fire, and wind, and the collection of these elements. Therefore, in conventional truth, when a lamp approaches, the vase and its appearance are the action of initially producing something that was not previously produced, rather than making something that has already been produced manifest. If the vase had not previously become an object of consciousness, and later the lamp made it become an object of consciousness, then the lamp is causing that consciousness itself to arise, rather than making that consciousness that already exists manifest. If, in the darkness, the vase did not become an object of eye consciousness, and the lamp made it become an object of eye consciousness, then this is also causing something that did not exist before to arise, rather than making something that already exists manifest. If someone says that the lamp dispels the darkness that is incompatible with the vase as an object, then the appearance of the antidote to darkness produced by the lamp is also the action of the lamp causing something that did not exist before to arise, rather than making an antidote that did not exist before manifest later. If the appearance of the vase as an object already exists, then what use is the lamp? If someone says that the lamp can make great nature and other non-manifest things manifest, this is also unreasonable. Why? The so-called "The non-manifest does not manifest, because it is non-manifest, like space is not manifest. As an example with its own nature, as shown by the chief and the enjoyer." This is saying that even taking the Samkhya school's own view as an example, the state of equilibrium of mental power, dust, and darkness, which is non-manifest, is the chief, which is nature. Similarly, the enjoyer, which is the self, is also non-manifest because it has not arisen, and therefore cannot make other things manifest. Similarly, great nature and other non-manifest things cannot be made manifest because they are non-manifest. This is how it is explained. If someone thinks that in some ways, the enjoyer can also be made manifest, then: The so-called "If that too is manifest, then the enjoyer is not all-pervading, not without cause, not conscious, and the non-manifest is also lost." This is saying that if the enjoyer can also be made manifest, then the enjoyer is
