It is as if unseen. Here, one's own school says: Your assertion that things arise from other is prohibited, which contradicts your commitment. The Blessed One said in the Sutra Pitaka: the cause condition, the object condition, the immediately preceding condition, and the dominant condition, these four conditions. Among them, the cause condition is the co-emergent cause, the similar cause, the corresponding cause, the pervasive cause, and the ripening cause, these five causes. The object condition is all phenomena. The immediately preceding condition is the mind and mental factors that have just ceased, except for the last mind of an Arhat. The dominant condition is the agent cause. Therefore, these four conditions have changed, and things will arise from them. If someone says this, the answer is: From causes and other conditions, arising is a conventional designation, therefore there is no harm to the commitment, because they are not ultimately true. If someone asks, are the causes and other conditions not ultimately true? Therefore, the answer is: For existing things, conditions are not necessary, and for non-existing things, conditions are also not necessary, because of existence and non-existence. Just as from something else, conditions have not arisen, how can conditions become conditions? That is, are these conditions becoming conditions for a fruit that exists or a fruit that does not exist? If it is a condition for a fruit that exists, then conditions are not necessary, because it already exists, just as a fully formed vase and other things do not need clay and other conditions. If it is a condition for a fruit that does not exist, then conditions are also not necessary, because it does not exist, just as sky flowers and other non-existent things do not need water and other conditions. Or, because it has already been proven that arising from self, other, both, and no cause is impossible. How can unarisen conditions become conditions for other unarisen things? Furthermore, if one thinks that the cause is what establishes, then this itself is unreasonable. Why? The cause does not produce the fruit, because it is empty, just like others. What is thought to arise is also not produced by it, because it did not exist before.

Thus. "That which" means that which is empty of something, that is not the producer of that thing. For example, pots and so on are not the producers of sprouts. That which does not exist before in something, it is not reasonable to think that it arises from that. For example, it is not reasonable for cloth to arise from a lump of clay. Or, as explained before: It does not produce what is born and unborn, and what is being born. To point out the fault, the cause of what is born is not truly real. Therefore, for the time being, the condition of the cause is unreasonable. To refute the condition of the object, it is said: What is born does not meet the object, because for what is born, arising is meaningless. What is unborn also does not meet because it is unborn, like the unborn dharma. "Object" means that which is to be objectified, therefore it is the object, a synonym for "grasping." For that, does the consciousness of the eye and so on, which objectifies, meet with the object of form and so on, whether it is born, unborn, or being born? For that, for the time being, what is born does not meet the object, because for what is born, arising is meaningless. What is unborn also does not meet the object, because it is unborn, like the consciousness of the eye and so on of the son of a barren woman, the unborn dharmas do not meet the object. What is being born also, if you think that what is being born will meet, then it is impossible for it to be without an object. "What is being born" means the nature of both what is born and unborn. It also does not meet the object, why? Because for it, the object is not close, because it has not yet obtained its own nature. If that which is being born, when the act of arising exists and it obtains its nature, will it meet the object? It is said: For one with incomplete limbs, the act of arising does not intervene. "Act" is understood only as a sign of existence, and exists relying on all things. If what is being born is slightly born and slightly unborn, then how does the act of arising intervene? Because it is the nature of existence and non-existence. If someone thinks like this, what are the dharmas with objects mentioned in the sutras? It is mind.
