Then it would become the fault of not having the very entity of the fruit. Furthermore, "Because it is unborn, it is not a cause; what is it, and what is its cause?" means that the chief and the person, etc., because they themselves are unborn, are not causes without distinction of before and after. Since it is not nothing, it will not become the cause of anything, so how can it become the cause of others? Likewise, unborn things such as seeds cannot manifest sprouts, etc. This is the conclusion. If one thinks that the cause itself is not the fruit, then what is it like? Because the fruit exists in the nature of the potential of the fruit in the cause, it is manifested by the causes and conditions. Since the potential and the manifestation are inseparable in nature, arising from it is arising from oneself. If you think so, that's why it is said: "If the fruit itself exists, then examining the cause becomes meaningless." It means that if you think that the cause produces the fruit, if the fruit itself already exists, then what is the use of examining the cause? There is also another great fault: "If it arises from itself, then the producer and the produced become one." This is the conclusion of the two, cause and effect. If someone thinks that it is only arising from oneself, and the producer and the produced will not become one, I can prove it. For example, when another quality of the substance called milk disappears, another quality called yogurt arises, and there is also the naming of cause and effect for it. If you think so, that's why it is said: "If you think that milk remains in the nature of cheese, so there is no harm, then the father does not turn into the son, so there is no harmlessness." It means that the father completely abandons the father's own entity and transforms into the nature of the son, which no one has ever seen anywhere in any way. Therefore, it is difficult for you to avoid the fault of the producer and the produced becoming one. Here, the opponents set up the Madhyamaka's arguments "because it has self-nature" and "because it is a thing" as arguments for non-arising, which are incompatible aspects of non-arising, that is, those who have birth.

What is the reason for establishing what? It cannot be a reason for establishing non-arising and is rejected. Like this, the so-called "existence of self-nature" and "thingness" exist only for arisen things such as pots, but not for unarisen things such as rabbit horns. Therefore, the reasons for the self-nature of things, the so-called "existence of self-nature" and "thingness," do not exist in any of the contradictory aspects of the self-nature of non-things. Because they only exist in the contradictory aspects, due to the contradiction of meaning, they are removed from the self-nature of the dharma called non-arising, and because they establish arising, they are contradictory in meaning. If you say so. The answer is that the so-called "existence of self-nature" and "thingness" are conventional truths, and what arises in dependence on them is ultimately without self-nature, because from self, other, both, and without cause, in all ways, there is no arising. The contradictory aspect of non-arising is non-arising, because there is no contradictory aspect. It is not allowed to contradict the reason, so it is said. Therefore, for the time being, all things should not arise from themselves. The meaning of this sentence is the concluding words in the manner described above. The Sutra School and the Vaibhashika School believe that sprouts and other external objects arise from the transformation of seeds, land, water, fire, wind, etc., and that the objects of the inner six sense bases arise from the transformation of ignorance, attachment, and karma. Similarly, the Vaisheshika School also believes that from the transformation of atoms of earth, etc., and the second atom, and the third, etc., the real substances of earth, etc., are manifested. To them, it should be said like this: Because self-nature does not exist, what is considered other from what? Just as from the top of a mountain, it is not considered another horse. The so-called "self-nature" is the entity of the self, and that is also in the manner described above, it does not exist in things. Because that does not exist, the self of the cause
